Expressing your feminine side is about much more than just clothes and makeup. After all, women are a little more complex than that!
That’s why I wanted to go beyond the obvious and explore some unexpected strategies to help you enhance your feminine expression.
In this blog post for crossdressers and transgender women, I share 3 unexpected ways to be more feminine. Read on to learn more!
1. Buy a New Perfume
The right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine. While it’s great to have a signature scent, sometimes it helps to switch things up and discover new perfumes to bring out your inner woman.
Here are some suggestions to match your desired vibe:
- Floral scents: Embrace your soft, romantic side with the allure of flowers.
- Fresh or fruity scents: Boost your confidence and energy levels with invigorating notes.
- Woody or oriental scents: Unleash your inner seductress with warm, captivating fragrances.

2. Be More Polite
Did you know that politeness plays a significant role in enhancing your feminine image?
Countless studies have shown that women tend to excel in the realm of manners, and adopting these social graces can truly elevate your femininity.
Here are three suggestions to keep in mind:
- Embrace the power of “please” and “thank you” – These little words hold huge power in conveying respect and gratitude. Remember to use them often in your daily interactions.
- Soften your language – For example, instead of bluntly saying “I can’t hear you,” opt for a more gentle approach like, “I’m sorry, I can’t quite hear you.” This subtle shift demonstrates empathy and consideration.
- Mind your online presence – Politeness shouldn’t be limited to face-to-face encounters. It’s equally important to be polite when texting, emailing, or engaging in online discussions.
3. Loosen Up
If you’re looking for an instant way to enhance your feminine image, here’s a simple secret: loosen up! This applies to both your body and your mind, and it can work wonders in unleashing your true feminine grace.
First, let’s focus on loosening up your body:
Women naturally possess a graceful, limber quality. If your body feels tense and tight, it can manifest in stiff, jerky movements that lack femininity. Here’s how you can loosen up:
- Consciously relax your body, especially your jaw and shoulders.
- Stretch your muscles on a daily basis.
- Take lots of deep, relaxing breaths.
These simple body-loosening techniques can do more to feminize your movements than all the hip shaking in the world!
Now, let’s shift our focus to loosening up your mind:
The happiest crossdressers and transgender women I know don’t get hung up on “passing” or trying to please everybody. Instead, they embrace who they are while constantly striving to improve themselves.
Life is short, so above all, relax and enjoy the journey!

I love my long nails!
Thank you Lucille for these great tips.
Since going full time I find I do practice these things, but it’s great to hear them coming from you.
I would agree that the most important one is loosen up. Im not at all nervous being out in public since giving up the self conscious mind set. Thus just relaxing into my authentic nature/self allows me to loosen up and gracefully flow with life.
It seems this is something that gets easier the longer into full time I have gone, and the more I have believed in myself. Its taken alot of working on myself to get here but these things, the things you mentioned have helps me greatly to let go, loosen up and be me, the woman I am from the inside out.
I always when I go out if I can’t wear a dress. I wear female jeans with panties, hose, bra,& blouse. I wear loafers,& feminine jewelry,& a touch of foundation with some mascara, eyeshadow, pale lipstick,& pierced earrings. Sometimes too put clear polish on my nails,or wear beige nail polish. I a lot of the times slip in a silicone breast pad to have a little breast form. I have never had anyone say anything to me. Even if I wear all male clothes I wear panties, bra,& stockings everywhere. You must not be shy. Be careful at work because you want to keep your job. Kisses Charlotte
charlotte i hear u i always wear a bra and panties and pantyhose i feel naked without them
Another way for MtF folks can be more feminine without dressing up is by wearing gender neutral clothing. Yes, it is scaring at the first time but eventually it becomes normal to do.
Hi I’m Rizwan male to female breast growth work?
A couple things that make me feel more feminine; lotion on shaved legs = extra smooth and I love the way they look. Toes painted! I have to wear closed shoes/boots all day, at night when I get home and take them (and the cute little no-show ankle socks) off? Always brings a smile to my face when I see how cute my toes look! 🙂 Hair. Growing mine out from decades of short buzz cuts, its (back) almost past my shoulders and (sides) my jaw line. I keep it pulled up in a small pony tail now until it gets past the awkward stages but at night, I can “let my hair down!”. I have been learning as I go along and hair care and management has been a minor one. I take the band out, run my fingers through it to loosen it up, get a brush and while leaning over, brush it all up. Then I grab the boar bristle brush and do the brush up again, stand up and carefully brush it all back down and straight. Add some protein/oil to it with fingers and it’s beautiful, lustrous, and looking healthy! There’s more I do every night but those are just a few I wanted to share.
Thanks Lucille: I’m not sure but I think I read something similar before, anyway thank you for the advice. My favorite new ways to feel feminine are1: consciously check that I am using my female voice and I try to use it all the time. I am not out at work. I am a teacher and work with kids now that I consciously check that I am in the female range and tryi gtk resonate in my head I have found the kids respond very well. I feel like my true voice is so much more enthusiastic and energetic, that’s me when I am being myself. I do it when ordering coffee or anytime talking. The only thing
Time I have difficulty is when I am with certain specific people, family, who disapprove of me. 🙁
2. I sit or stand consciously and try to show some curves. I always try to sit nice and feminine.
So in gerneral like you say about passing I don’t worry about it. The only time I do worry about it is when I look in the mirror. Then disphoria hits 🙁 that really sucks.
Hi , this is when you know , your that woman . Remember your that , Beautiful Woman . Start being happy who you are , Lovely Woman
Small recent update, I bought a steel finger ring with a fake black stone from a sale that I wear with my unisex chain. This helps me feel a tiny bit more feminine. I wear a daffodil brooch from march-May and will carry on wearing it anyway pretending it’s a chrysanthemum, yellow rose, etc. 🙂
By the way I say please and thank you a lot. 🙂
I am feminine in my mind. I have my own scent lavender. I always wear pretty underthings… I ♥️ the way they feel against me. Wearing a pretty floral dress shows my femininity to others. It’s how I feel on the inside that makes me feminine. All of the cute hair ribbons, earrings, bracelets, and a pretty French manicure allow me to be the feminine girl I am
