Expressing your feminine side is about much more than just clothes and makeup. After all, women are a little more complex than that!
That’s why I wanted to go beyond the obvious and explore some unexpected strategies to help you enhance your feminine expression.
In this blog post for crossdressers and transgender women, I share 3 unexpected ways to be more feminine. Read on to learn more!
1. Buy a New Perfume
The right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine. While it’s great to have a signature scent, sometimes it helps to switch things up and discover new perfumes to bring out your inner woman.
Here are some suggestions to match your desired vibe:
- Floral scents: Embrace your soft, romantic side with the allure of flowers.
- Fresh or fruity scents: Boost your confidence and energy levels with invigorating notes.
- Woody or oriental scents: Unleash your inner seductress with warm, captivating fragrances.

2. Be More Polite
Did you know that politeness plays a significant role in enhancing your feminine image?
Countless studies have shown that women tend to excel in the realm of manners, and adopting these social graces can truly elevate your femininity.
Here are three suggestions to keep in mind:
- Embrace the power of “please” and “thank you” – These little words hold huge power in conveying respect and gratitude. Remember to use them often in your daily interactions.
- Soften your language – For example, instead of bluntly saying “I can’t hear you,” opt for a more gentle approach like, “I’m sorry, I can’t quite hear you.” This subtle shift demonstrates empathy and consideration.
- Mind your online presence – Politeness shouldn’t be limited to face-to-face encounters. It’s equally important to be polite when texting, emailing, or engaging in online discussions.
3. Loosen Up
If you’re looking for an instant way to enhance your feminine image, here’s a simple secret: loosen up! This applies to both your body and your mind, and it can work wonders in unleashing your true feminine grace.
First, let’s focus on loosening up your body:
Women naturally possess a graceful, limber quality. If your body feels tense and tight, it can manifest in stiff, jerky movements that lack femininity. Here’s how you can loosen up:
- Consciously relax your body, especially your jaw and shoulders.
- Stretch your muscles on a daily basis.
- Take lots of deep, relaxing breaths.
These simple body-loosening techniques can do more to feminize your movements than all the hip shaking in the world!
Now, let’s shift our focus to loosening up your mind:
The happiest crossdressers and transgender women I know don’t get hung up on “passing” or trying to please everybody. Instead, they embrace who they are while constantly striving to improve themselves.
Life is short, so above all, relax and enjoy the journey!

Lucille,
I have to put on brow liner the first thing in the morning. The same thing goes for eye liner; the lower lid actually is enough to suffice. I also daily moisteurizer my face and arms to make these areas softer.
And here’s another one that doesn’t deal with any physical attributes: my handwriting! I’m at the point where my penmanship is totally cursive. All my letters are curved/circular with a flared-style. It feels so girly and good.

Lucille,
Once again I totally agree.
1. A mist of new perfume,
2. A positive happy attitude and of course a smile,
3. A daily exercise routine. These have always been positive ways for me to enjoy being feminine.
Have fun dressing

Whats the best way to raise estrogan level without seeing a doctor please help me
I pretty much live my life now that I am retired as woman 24/7. I try to incorporate all of Lucille’s great tips in my daily life. I just try to blend in as any other lady out there. One of the things though that really makes me feel feminine is on the rare occasions when a man notices me and treats me like a lady. This past New Year’s Eve a woman friend of mine called me up and we went out to local bar as two girlfriends. As the evening progressed, a handsome man asked me to dance! I said yes! It was so fun with his arms around me, I felt like a queen! Anyhow, it didn’t amount to anything, but it was a fun experience! Here is what I looked like that evening. Mind you I’m 73, so I hope I fitted in!
You look amazing Suzy! Thanks for sharing your story.
I also have had several similar encounters with men, a couple of men did not believe me when I told them that I was trans.
It does happen, and when men ask me out I always tell them right away. It’s the right and safe thing to do.
Also, it’s funny, our outfits are almost the same.
Best,
Wanita
Hi Wanita! Thanks so much for the feedback! Yes, it’s so much fun seeing a man who is attracted to you! I am always upfront too as you say. The guys I have met were surprised but supportive. I’ve been a lucky girl so far!
And yes, we do look similar in our outfits! So much fun, isn’t it! Hugs, Suzy
Dear Lucille
Your comments really are major inspiration in my feminine .transition. I am so grateful.

Wow, this topic has some history, from the large number of posts! Some things that really make me feel feminine include being friendly toward other women. Everybody has a certain amount of loneliness, shyness and insecurity, or bears wounds from contact with the world, so when you can help someone ease those feelings, you generate good will. Simple things like honest compliments when you are impressed by some clothing item, hair, or anything, or pointing out trouble like a clothing defect, or just speaking to someone when they are often ignored, like store checkout clerks, or any other friendly gesture. are usually greatly appreciated, and produce responses in kind.
It’s those bonding occasions which are SO rewarding and heartwarming, and give such girly tingles! And the ensuing conversations can not only be feel-goods, sometimes they are a riot!
Also, any such gestures from women toward me, have the same effects.
I also love it when a man acts gentlemanly and gallant. O-o-o-h, how sweet it is!
So, it’s: any kind of nice action toward me as a woman, whether I trigger it on purpose or not, makes me feel feminine.
An anecdote: We girls were discussing the (really distant) past, when I mentioned that I used to wear jeans and a t-shirt to high school most of the time. One women said “But girls didn’t do that then”. She acted surprised when I reminded her that I wasn’t always a girl. Those times are priceless!
I love your website Lucille but I want to speak with you in private.
Samantha
Well, this was an unexpected way to feel feminine.
It was my passport photo.
