Now I may agree that there are some very feminine movements to be noted in these videos I would say that most of them are very disrespectful to women as a whole. I am not a whore nor do I dress as one! Lucille I am actually very surprised you posted some of these obscene videos, I had much more respect for you before now. I want to be seen as a normal, respectable woman not as some street slut looking to be picked up by a drug dealer or drunk. I’ll kick back in my lavender suffused tub and listen to Bach and feel more womanly and feminine than any of that trash you posted. This is from a leather and lace head banger, cheers.
Hi Svetlana, great to hear from you. “My Humps” is a little over the top, but I posted these videos in the spirit of fun. Women are multidimensional creatures. We’re nurturers, caregivers, companions, breadwinners, and sex kittens all rolled in one. I don’t believe that women should deny their sexuality (and music can be a great way to get in touch with it!), but that doesn’t mean I think you should dress like a slut.
Did you listen to the songs “I am Woman” by Helen Reddy or “Respect” by Aretha Franklin? These have been feminist anthems for decades.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s always great to hear different perspectives.
I love this subject!
October 30, 2008 I was Las Vegas sitting in the makeover chair at the salon where Bobbie was born. Katy Perry’s, I Kissed a Girl, came on the sound system. The owner of the Salon requested to have the song played again. Then throughout the night at the T-Girls, Glammy Awards Party. I never tire of hearing that song because it reminds me of the day that I looked in the mirror and saw the real me that was hidden inside for so many years. Thanks Amy,Katy and Lucille for helping me along my journey of being the woman I have always wanted to be and now becoming. I am a beautiful woman and I Kissed a Girl has the spirit and spunk that this girl loves to project.
Love it! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
The list of Songs are great but I do prefer the Patti Labelle version that cam out in the 1970’s But I will admit that Christina Aguilera did the song justice.
Hi Lucille ! thank you… for some realy hot song a couple i never hear

How lovely to be a woman
Hello Lucille:
I always love your tips and truly you have been a big help to me in bringing out my true self and feeling more comfortable. Just wanted to say thanks. I love music and “Man I feel like a woman” has always been one of my favorite songs not just because I enjoy Shania’s music, but the meaning of that song was always so clear to me. Will take a bit and give you my top ten in the near future, but looking at the above list, god you cover it nicely.
Take care and thanks again, rayelynn
Thank you, Rayelynn! 🙂
When I finally got together with my life partner(i’m 44 and shes 23 both in transition), she and I both found our most motivational song was “Born this Way” by Lady GaGa. Turns out that we both play it when we are putting on makeup and getting dressed to go out. lol
We also enjoy “Come to My Window” by Melissa Etheridge..
Hello Lucille ! I had listened to these songs for years to lift my spirits and moods.. and after I began to transition, they made much more sense. My taste in music a bit different… and prehaps a little revealing of my age, but in no particular order:
Only a Woman’s Heart by Mary Black
Moon and St Christopher by Mary Black
You Make me Feel (like a natural woman) Carol King
Dreamin’ by Blondie
Sunday Girl by Blondie
The Tide is Hgih by Blondie
