I just love getting dressed up for a girli’s night in or out with Shania Twain’s Man! I Feel Like A Woman playing at a high volume. It always gets me feeling so feminine and girly. Especially when fully dressed and made up, dancin in front of the mirror, hairbrush micriphonr in hand for the final chorus!

(i am demisexual / asexual and have stayed mainly drawn to women, so i thought this one needed to be thrown in). This was an anthem for me in 2018, the first year of my transition. The ending is wonderfully quirky too. How lovely it was to listen to it in that year.
Recently the joy of this song was resurrected, and it was so joyful to hear it at a pub last night. I was a little tearful when i saw a bunch of women much younger than i hugging one another and screaming the song out together!! The occasion for resurrection was that recently i underwent at long last my gender change operation (i love the German term “Geschlechtsangleichende Operation” and far if prefer it to the English “Sex Reassignment Operation”. According to my partner and daughter (they were both delighted for me), i was behaving like a teenager at the moment after my Op! “C’mon good people”, i thought, indulge my once in a lifetime high for a little bit! So, FL friends, a little silly teenage humor – as in the not so subtle cat-in-the-lap pun in Katie Perry’s is something you may have to indulge whilst i savor and come down from my high.
