If you’re like many of my transgender or crossdressing readers, you might not be able to present yourself as a woman each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to lose your female side when it’s time to put on the pants!
In this post, I share 5 ways to stay in touch with your femininity – even in male mode.
1. Wear Women’s Underwear
Let’s start with the most obvious tip, shall we? Wearing women’s underwear underneath your male clothing is the easiest way to connect with your feminine self on a daily basis.
Aside from that, women’s panties tend to be more comfortable than men’s boxers or briefs. Plus, they come in loads of cute and sexy styles to add some secret pizazz to your outfit.
2. Try Stealth Crossdressing
Wearing lingerie under your clothes is a classic, but why stop there? Sneaking a piece of women’s clothing into your daily outfit is a great way to feel girly.
A lot of women’s clothing can pass for unisex, so try wearing women’s:
- Basic tees
- Button-down shirts
- Jeans and pants
Don’t forget about accessories! You could also play with wearing women’s boots or using a tote bag as a laptop bag or briefcase.
3. Apply Incognito Makeup
There are lots of ways to incorporate makeup into your daily look, even when presenting as a male. Here are 4 must-have makeup items:
- Concealer or foundation – Apply a thin layer to cover under eye circles or blemishes.
- Setting powder – Apply to shiny spots on your face, like the nose or forehead.
- Clear mascara – Use it to make your eyelashes look subtly longer and fuller.
- Uncolored lipstick – Instead of boring Chapstick, care for your lips with a clear lipstick.
4. Use the Power of Scent
Scents have a powerful effect on your brain chemistry and mood, so this is a great way to connect with your feminine side.
Wear women’s perfume instead of cologne. Musky fragrances are the most unisex, so you can wear them without anybody knowing your secret. (Check out my article on perfume to learn more about choosing the right scent.)
Another option is to burn a scented candle with a feminine fragrance in your home or office.
5. Keep Reminders of Your Female Self
Another tip is to surround yourself with reminders of the woman within.
One way to do this is through photos. Keep photos of your femme self on your phone, in your wallet, or even framed and hung up so you can see them often.
You could also carry around items personalized with your feminine name, such as a necklace, keychain, or coffee mug.
6. Try Feminizing Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful way to increase confidence, reprogram habits and behaviors, and improve the way you express yourself as a woman.
Best of all, it’s the ultimate mental escape – allowing you to connect with you female self regardless of your current situation.
Try it for yourself by signing up for my free Unleash Your Inner Woman hypnosis mini-session here.
How do YOU stay connected?
In an ideal world, you’d be free to present yourself as a woman whenever and wherever you wanted. Until then, I hope this gives you ideas for expressing your female side anytime you want!

I find the advice you give to be most helpfull in all ways when presenting myself enfemme. Ive been wearing womens underwear all the time for quite a few years, as it reinforces my femininety even when dressed as a man. Besides who would want to wear mens underwear when there is a draw full of sexy lingerie to wear. I’m also clean shaven and keep my browss thin and arched always, as well as my toe nails paintedin some bright shade of pinks or purples. Like to try your hypnosis programs someday soon, as Im sure they’d help my self confidence as a woman. Thanks for the help and encouragement.
I’m just starting to dress up. It’s such a liberating feeling.WOW!!! Thanks Lucille for helping me come out, it’s a pity I had’nt found this site a long time ago. Yours truely Felicia.
Great hair color!
Hi Lucille
I like to say that I have been dressing in women’s clothing most of my life. What you have
showed how to be girly 24/7, I do that ever day
winter. spring, summer and fall clothing.
I have a few women’s stores that call me when
they get there new fashions in, witch I can wear
daily to work and go out to town or friends place’s. TO buy shoes, a good place is Payless
ShoeSource. I personally don’t have much of
men’s clothing to be had.
I hope your comment of [ Hoe to be Girly 24
Hours Per Day ] will help lot of your reads out.
Love,
Sarah
PS. I would like to use my femme name Sarah from
now on. Thank you Urmas
Hi lucille. It seems I have passed another milestone in creating a feminine name. Even though I’ve not come out yet behind closed doors is another thing. I dress partially or fully on a regular basis and have been for sometime but still cautiously. I’ve aquired over this time a couple of outfits, a wig, breastforms, some jewlry and makeup, enough to give me the feel of the event. It fells pretty good. Someday I can see myself getting dressed up and going to a larger city where I can blend in easier but not in the near future. I’ll let you know if/when it happens.

quite often i wear cami tops and pantys under my cloths. or sometimes a teddy. i also drive around ,at night, in a wig, top and skirt with stay up stockings. thats all, except i’m having fun but wish i could pass better so i could go out during the day.JENNIFER.
I never leave the house without wearing at least one article of feminine clothing for all to see. I underdress every day, wear panty hose daily from fall thru spring, wear women’s jeans, shorts, blouses and shirts, women’s jackets or coats and shoes / boots. There are lots of options that are pretty unisex. In addition I have my stylist cut my hair in a unisex style. Nobody notices and if they do, I’ve never gotten a comment.
After coming out about being transgendered to my best friend, she has encouraged me to be my true self in small ways that I can live with wihout anyone else finding out.
First, I got a tattoo on my ankle, the Greek symbol for “female”. And I spray on just a tiny amount of perfume when I leave for work.
Since my BFF is so great at being feminine, she’s helped me learn a little about make-up and we’ve gone out on the town a few times. She’s having as much fun helping me be more feminine as I have. She’s even gone online to research how to tape my face back to look more feminine. And I’ve let a couple of my other girlfriends know about me, who are very accepting. While I know that I can’t live as the woman I am inside and can never transition, at least I have a few things I can do to remind me of me.
I enjoyed this blog regarding being girly 24 hours a day.
I especially enjoyed the part about having mementos with your feminine name. I order coffee mugs or beer steins from a company on the internet. This company allows people to personalize their mugs. I always use this special picture that is placed on my mug. Everytime I drink from this mug, I foundly think of Sherry.
