If you’re like many of my transgender or crossdressing readers, you might not be able to present yourself as a woman each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to lose your female side when it’s time to put on the pants!
In this post, I share 5 ways to stay in touch with your femininity – even in male mode.
1. Wear Women’s Underwear
Let’s start with the most obvious tip, shall we? Wearing women’s underwear underneath your male clothing is the easiest way to connect with your feminine self on a daily basis.
Aside from that, women’s panties tend to be more comfortable than men’s boxers or briefs. Plus, they come in loads of cute and sexy styles to add some secret pizazz to your outfit.
2. Try Stealth Crossdressing
Wearing lingerie under your clothes is a classic, but why stop there? Sneaking a piece of women’s clothing into your daily outfit is a great way to feel girly.
A lot of women’s clothing can pass for unisex, so try wearing women’s:
- Basic tees
- Button-down shirts
- Jeans and pants
Don’t forget about accessories! You could also play with wearing women’s boots or using a tote bag as a laptop bag or briefcase.
3. Apply Incognito Makeup
There are lots of ways to incorporate makeup into your daily look, even when presenting as a male. Here are 4 must-have makeup items:
- Concealer or foundation – Apply a thin layer to cover under eye circles or blemishes.
- Setting powder – Apply to shiny spots on your face, like the nose or forehead.
- Clear mascara – Use it to make your eyelashes look subtly longer and fuller.
- Uncolored lipstick – Instead of boring Chapstick, care for your lips with a clear lipstick.
4. Use the Power of Scent
Scents have a powerful effect on your brain chemistry and mood, so this is a great way to connect with your feminine side.
Wear women’s perfume instead of cologne. Musky fragrances are the most unisex, so you can wear them without anybody knowing your secret. (Check out my article on perfume to learn more about choosing the right scent.)
Another option is to burn a scented candle with a feminine fragrance in your home or office.
5. Keep Reminders of Your Female Self
Another tip is to surround yourself with reminders of the woman within.
One way to do this is through photos. Keep photos of your femme self on your phone, in your wallet, or even framed and hung up so you can see them often.
You could also carry around items personalized with your feminine name, such as a necklace, keychain, or coffee mug.
6. Try Feminizing Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful way to increase confidence, reprogram habits and behaviors, and improve the way you express yourself as a woman.
Best of all, it’s the ultimate mental escape – allowing you to connect with you female self regardless of your current situation.

I have found the perfect fitting boot with a two inch heel but may not be able to walk all day in them. I wear leggings under my jeans and even female styled jackets, that they are covered in flowers or even a strange color of peach just makes the lookers do a double take, my hair is long (past my shoulders), I often get called mam, and I act indifferent when that happens. I focus on walking like girls do, it is so tantalizing when it’s done right. However, using makeup or even buying it so far has eluded me. I want to get a sir Lancelot haircut, the bangs can hide a scar that makes me look angry but finding a hair dresser who isn’t brain dead is difficult. Too many seem to fear the idea of unisex haircuts.
Dear Lucille,
Except for women’s underwear, sometimes tights or bras or even bodysuits during the day in winter, I sleep at night only in a women’s satin chemise. Man by day, woman by night…
I do wear female clothes every day. My underwear is always female. Quiet often I wear women’s pants or jeans. I am presently looking for a good pull on pant with no zipper or button up. All my shoes/boots are female because they don’t make men’s sizes in my size (lucky me ).
I also have a clutch purse to carry all my essentials including my phone so that I am not trying to juggle everything that is necessary every day. It has an over the shoulder strap to easily carry it without thinking too hard.
I do all of the above but number 2, it is hard because women’s tops button on the opposite side as men’s. Sometimes this is very evident. I have worn some buttoned on the opposite side a few times.
I am removing my very male tattoo and am looking for a few good female type tattoos, like a hummingbird on the ankle or something like that. I have a few ideas, just to make the decision.
I love stealth. Painted nails daily (my new fav for my fingers is Sally Hansen 220 Rosy Quartz sheer. Looks completely natural with just a tinge of pink), panties when its warm enough, long hair, and occasional light makeup and perfume. On a rare occasion I’ll wear hosiery under my jeans for an added kick.
Oh yes, stealth mode. I did that a lot. I found the female equivalent sizing in clothes and went shopping for basics like jeans and various tops. I wore t-shirts often to most jobs, but in cooler weather, I wore pullover sweaters. Thicker tops hid the straps of chemises I love to wear. One job I had entailed the need for steel-toe boots, and yes, I found them in women’s style/size too.
I’ve been wearing panties(bikini & thongs)and bras almost exclusively for a couple of years now. Panties are indeed much more comfortable.
Brown black mascara on lashes and brows and NourishMax diamond extract eye cream for the dark circles and puffiness of the eyes.
For the feet, I paint my toes and wear anklets and I Nair full body.
I’m also contemplating light makeup, and women’s jeans, blouses and shoes, slowly and inconspicuously.
I get manicures and pedicures monthly. Some light pink color on my toes. Clear coat on my finger nails.
Grannie panties 24/7. Women jeans always, some women tops, especially turtle necks, and a women’s belt. I shave all body hair.
Yes,
Count me in on stealth. Female undies (44d so I need a bra), stealth clothes and accessories, light makeup, fragrance. Yes, and I do like just like quite a few cis women I see
