Photos are a great way to share your female self with the world. And thanks to selfie apps and photo filters, it’s easier to look great than ever before.
Now, am I saying you should deceive people with heavily edited photos? Not at all!
However, photographers and celebrities have been retouching photos since the beginning of time…
There’s no reason why you can’t show yourself in the best light – especially if you don’t go overboard with the edits.
In this post, created specifically for transgender women and crossdressers, I share my top 5 MTF selfie apps and feminization photo editors guaranteed to make you look amazing.
Note that all of these apps offer free and full (paid) versions. While the paid versions will unlock more features, you can get plenty of mileage from the free versions as well.

I can see where something like that could be useful, even fun, especially when trying to find an attainable look. Probably very helpful in trying to sort out what’s too much or not enough without actually investing the time and effort experimenting.
I only use one app for beauty filters: Snapchat, and even then primarily just for fun on holidays or if I’m too tired to put on makeup on my days off. While I appreciate the look of flawless skin, the filters tend to distort my age, making me look too young. I have good skin, so people often think I look 15 years younger than I am, but I don’t have any interest in trying to convince anyone that I’m in my 20’s. I just turned 51, and I fought too hard through every one of those years to have someone believe I’m half my age lacking the experience that comes with all the scars they can’t see.
I agree. I don’t want anyone to think I’m significantly younger. I too have skin that makes me appear younger in any case so I just go with that as a general rule.
Thank you Jillian! We girls never tire of complements about our appearance, do we?
You look beautiful, Lydia!
I absolutely néed beauty plus
Thank you so much for these tips. They are helping a lot!
I would suppose that if one were a public figure and presentation was important then these apps probably are needed. They could be fun to play with. Giving attention to lighting, angles and cropping can give us a nicer appearance in our photos.
Wow, Morgan, you certainly don’t need much in the way of these Apps, you’re thoroughly GORGEOUS!!
whatever your situation, you look most wonderfully happy! You are fulltime yourself, and that’s what matters!
Selena, the “transition” and “full time” questions are very confusing to me. I’m not sure that I have transitioned. It’s more like I’ve been given the freedom to look and be myself. I have always been a shorts and tee person. I don’t wear makeup and my hair and breasts are real. Dysphoria played a big part in my health problems, so hrt was a must. I never considered myself as a woman trapped in a man’s body and I don’t really adhere to a gender. No preference of pronouns. I’m not sure if that categorizes me as gender fluid. I’m just somewhere in between.
You’re so welcome, Morgan. Your smile lifts my mood! May i ask whether you are fulltime? You look so happy and at peace in this photo. And i love your name: i knew a really sweet friend in primary school called Morgan, and she was gentle, kind and super smart, and we often drew different creatures together. I have known since i knew her that your name means “Born in the Sea” and both Morgan and i drew many sea creatures together when were little.
Thank you, Selena! So very kind of you.
These are cute but I prefer my natural look.
Hi Ladies,
It is is truly a joy to look like the woman in this picture which came out of a professional make-over. At the same time, day in and day out, it is a joy to be just the woman I am. There aren’t many cis women who look their best all the time either. 🙂
Love to you all,
Sarah
You look really pretty. An inspiration to the rest of us gals
Thank you, Ana. A gal needs all the encouragement she can get. I do try to remember that our beauty really comes from this inside out and not so much from a professional makeover.
🙂
Sarah
Hi all! Just for the fun of I thought I would share a photo I had done for by a professional photographer! It’s a little dated, around 20 years ago. But was a lot of fun! Hugs, Suzy
