I’ve observed that many crossdressers and transgender women recognize their gender identity at a young age. For some, it’s an early realization, while for others, it unfolds later in life.
I’m curious about your experience…
When did you first realize you were female or had a feminine side? Was this something you felt as a child, or did it develop over time?
I’d love to hear your story! Feel free share your thoughts in the comments below!

I always want to be a girl since i have memory, i just wanted to do everything girls do and be treated like.one
I knew when I was 6-8 I would dress in my sisters clothes and especially loved her slips. But I was pushed back from parents. Then as a teen all my best friends that I connected with were girls and that’s been true ever since . I recall my friend Sally asking me why did I stand like a girl and I didn’t realize it as it felt natural for me.
When I was 11 or 12 I remember I would try on my mothers and my sisters clothing. I learned to make sure I put every thing back as I found it. My mother and sister never knew until I told them many years later. I consider myself very lucky because I have been accepted by all those who I care for. I told my wife on our first date that I liked to dress in women’s clothing she said that there were a lot worse things I could be. That was 38 years ago and have been married for 35 years. If any one is looking for support lookup Tri-Ess you may find a chapter in your area. I live in the New England area and have been a member for almost 7 years. And I am now 62.

I knew at the age of 6 to 8 and it kept nagging at me with everyone saying I was a ‘boy’ and I just wanted to be like all the other girls, but it would take 20 years before I’d even hear the term ‘transgender’ and everything started falling into place for me
My mum said she knew for a while when I finally came out, probably me trying to wear her heels and walking in them better than her for 3 years might have been a hint lol
Like others l felt the “call” to CD at 5 or 6.I remember it well. Like Catlin Jenner has talked about going into Mom and sister ‘s clothes, replacing everything EXACTLY as it had been in the drawers / closet. Been dressing in every city lived in since my 20 , and I am 71
I first realise that I was meant to be a girl when I was 13 I had a thing for Girly staff and I always have a lot of female friends And I love how they dress and get to wear make up and I want that

I found myself when I turned 16. Before then I always pushed my true self away in fear of what people would think of me but now at 17 I am taking big steps in my transition.

I too am more free today at 71 yo, than ever before. I go to lunch 4- 5 x month with the wife and sister -in -laws.
