Age is a popular topic around here and I’m occasionally asked…
“Am I too old to crossdress?” or “Am I too old to transition as a transgender woman?”
My response?
NO, of course not!
Whether you are a so-called mature crossdresser – or an older MTF woman beginning her transition – it is NEVER too late to be your true female self.
I believe that the true desires or your heart are meant to be expressed – no matter how long they’ve been buried.
Is it true that your age may have an impact on hormone therapy or surgery? Yes, that’s possible. But a good doctor will guide you on your best and safest options.
The fact remains that you can transition and/or present yourself as a woman at any point in life.
In fact, embracing your feminine side can give you a whole new lease on life…
I see it all the time: People seem to grow years younger when they make the decision to be themselves fully.
Having the courage to express your true self also inspires others to do the same. The world needs more of this!
In the words of Laverne Cox:
“It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells us we should not exist.”
I’ll say it again: You are NEVER too old to be your true female self.
So, I encourage you to take that next step and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on.
You deserve it. And it’s not too late!
Do you agree that age is just a number?
Now I’d love to hear from YOU on this topic…
How old were you when you decided to fully embrace your female self? (Or are you still waiting?)
Let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille

I’m 78 now, but maybe I’ll be 30-40 when I often turn into a woman ten years ago. I use a mask because I can’t remove my wrinkles, but my movement, shape, hands, feet have remained pretty young. I have loved female beauty since I was a child. My partner is an actress. I’ve seen countless faces, I love it when it transforms. It shaped me too: I had already imagined in myself how I would do it, I gave it ideas. I bought her a beautiful sari ten years ago, but she failed to get dressed on the first try. When I was left alone, I tried using an internet clip – and it worked great. I’ve stayed that way ever since. I have created countless versions of female beauty from different ages and cultures. I learned a lot from femininity, behavior, dressing, makeup. But it is exclusively a work of art, acting, live painting, sculpture from my body, all about essay writing, art photography. I never had a female sexual desire. I live in a man’s dress as a normal man. But if I feel the need, I need to turn into a woman so I drive, walk down the street. Not just as a woman. As a beautiful and decades younger woman. And it’s so good, soothing, rejuvenating.
I am in my 60’s but people say I don’t look that old. And in make up wig and dress I look younger. So I am still going to crossdress as long as my body holds up
Lillian emerged when I was 54 after a lifetime of repression & efforts to extinguish. Not transitioning physically but spend most of my days as female & find the people just see & accept me as such.
Yes, age maybe just a number and one can transition at any age but it can leave you with issues that can never be resolved.
I was born in the 50’s and even though I knew something was different about me you never spoke of it. Since it was never spoke of you just played the role others told you. For me not really knowing why I felt the way I did, I did what guys are supposed to do get married and have kids. It was not until many years later I went to see a therapist and found out that I was transgender. That answered my questions about why I felt the way I did, but it also made me feel that I was cheated out of a life I should have had. To this day I feel that way, which really messed with my head. So yes one can transition at any time but do it early in life is better than later.

I came as gender fluid out at 57 and I’m 63 now. and happier than I’ve ever been. I have also started my ‘Androgyne Genie’ female David Bowie live act! Now is the time, whatever the time!
I’m 63 and the happiest I’ve ever been. Came out 6 years ago. As far as I’m concerned, the time is now, whatever the time! Also just started my live female David Bowie tribute act!
