What’s your proudest accomplishment on your MTF journey so far?
It could be a major milestone like starting hormone therapy, coming out to a friend, or going out in public as a woman for the first time.
Or it could be a smaller victory, like buying your first lipstick or choosing your feminine name.
Even if you’re just starting out, there’s a lot to celebrate. Acknowledging your true self is a significant step forward!
So let’s hear it! What is your greatest transgender or crossdressing achievement?
Please share your story with us in the comments below!

I did something completely new a few days ago. My legal name is female. So, when went to vote, I got dressed and went out to vote. Loved it.
Good for you Abbie !!! To vote as your true self–you are my “GREAT American”.
My greatest achievement has been going full time (in public) in one giant leap! I started hormones 7 months ago, shortly after started my new wardrobe (of course purchasing my first dress was an Amazing experience) and then prepared myself to tell family and friends.
It’s been around 4 months now that, satisfied I was ready, I stepped out in public as Nadine for the first time. I was surprised at how good it felt. My confidence was sky high, people weren’t staring at me as I had expected, and I affirmed that I was finally able to totally be myself!! I have not looked back.
It is so wonderful being the woman I always knew I was!!
For the first time, a few years ago, I wore girls jeans and a top outside, in a public place, at the Boston Gay Pride parade! A good female friend of mine went with me. We even went on the subway, into the city! I expected sneers and negative comments, but I was surprised at how many people didn’t think anything was out of the ordinary!
My biggest achievements have been in public, when someone told me, “Excuse me, Miss.” Or the time I was attending a play, and a mother told her son, “Don’t bump into that lady.” Or the time I was waiting for the train, and another woman came up to me and remarked, “I love your shoes.” But my biggest thrill came when I went to the movie theater, and a man held the door for me, and when I passed he smiled and continued to check me out as a walked away!
When I got my CDL renewal and it had an F on it!!! This was after going to the Chancery Court to legally change my name. I represented myself, and the judge signed off on the order. Both have been about 9 years ago.
I went “full time” in ’03 and never looked back
This is a bit silly, but mine would have to be when men started checking me out. One time I walked into a mall, and this very buff, tall dark and handsome man was was walking off in the distance, and he caught a glimpse of me from his periphery and his head spun to look at me and he stopped in his tracks. I couldn’t help smiling. It was maybe my most empowering moments as a woman for me (immature, I know). Men never used to notice me, but he noticed me out of all the people in the crowd, me! He was so cute, before it was me checking men out, and the tables have turned on me! It’s exciting but a bit scary. I’m like Blanch from the Golden Girls.
My biggest step will b this coming week. I have all the appointments set.. all week will b my pre-full Time week. All week is set for mani and pedi, permanent makeup, and breast and butt implants and liposuction for that hourglass figure. C u soon girls. 🙂
I´m glad to answer this:
My primer goal i achieved is the laser hair removal. I have my legs almost at 100% free of hair as my armpits and “mustache” as well. While i was doing this one of the girls question me what will be my next step…i didnt told her that im a cd but we both known what i am by then. So i star to think, why not…my next step will be the nose surgery. And finally i went to the doctor and he told me what procedure will the best for me, not only the nose but the chin with and an implant and the removal bichats to feminizise my face will comlplete my transition (and i only want to pass and try to continue my “man” life). Im so excited.
All these without counting my 100 pairs of shoes that i almost complete. All keep it in a secret place.
I am so excited for you hun! When I read your post I was really moved. I am in the very beginning. I shaved my legs for the first time a couple of days ago and am in the beginning of being the real me. I wish you all the best and look forward to hearing about your progress.
Kisses,
Ginger
