The right pair of shoes can instantly transform the way you look, feel, and walk. That’s why a girl can never own too many pairs!
Of course, not all shoes are created equal and some styles are much more flattering and feminizing than others.
That’s why in this blog post, I’ve compiled the top 7 shoe styles for crossdressers and transgender women.
From classy high heels to comfortable flats, here are the best MTF shoes to enhance your feminine image.
1. Classic Black Pumps
What could be more chic than a pair of classic black pumps? They add a polished look to any outfit, making them a feminine wardrobe staple.
For the most mileage, choose a closed-toe, full back style with a heel that’s high enough to help loosen up your hips as you walk.
2. Ballet Flats
You don’t have to wear high heels to look feminine!
Ballet flats are a fantastic option, especially if you’re on the taller side or want to look pretty and stylish without sacrificing comfort.
3. D’Orsay Pumps
The d’Orsay is a beautiful and elegant pump style in which the sides are cut away to reveal the arch of the foot.
D’Orsay pumps are perfect for showing off shapely legs – an asset for most crossdressers and transgender women.
4. T-Straps
T-straps add a sexy touch to pumps, high heel sandals, and flats. T-strap shoes have two distinct benefits:
- The ankle strap offers extra support for your ankles, making them easier to walk in than other heels.
- The vertical line created by the center strap draws the eye upwards, making your legs look longer.
5. Nude Heels
If you’re on a budget, nude heels will give you the most mileage since they can be worn with literally any color of outfit.
Choose a nude tone that blends in with your skin to make your legs look miles long – an added bonus!
6. Wedges
Still trying to master walking in heels? Then consider a wedge heel. Since the sole covers more ground, they’re much easier to walk in.
One caveat: Wedges have a chunky look, so they are best for those with thinner legs. Stay away from them if you have large or muscular legs.
7. Tall Boots
Boots are sexy and sassy, so they’re a wardrobe must.
Choose knee high boots for the most elegant look. Tall boots are more flattering and slimming than ankle boots or boots that hit the middle of the calf.
Let’s talk shoes!
Of course, these 7 shoe styles are only the beginning! While all of these options are fantastic, the best shoes are the ones that make YOU look and feel your best.
I could talk about shoes for days, so let’s keep the conversation going!
Take my poll and then and share a photo of yourself wearing your favorite shoes in the comments below!

Shoes are my obsession, high-heeled mules in particular! I have all shapes and styles, though I would say my great favourite is the pair of black fluffy mules (2.5 inch heel) which I wear with my black lingerie. For outdoors, I opt for two-inch heels to curtail height and better movement.
Hi Lucille, Thanks for some more useful tips. And for Janet, looking for size 11 shoes, have a look on e-bay. There are some great manufacturers and shops on there, plus there are usually a great number for sale from private individuals that have never been worn, still in the box.
The thigh boots with the zip are very comfortable to walk in
The 4″ heels are also fairly easy to walk in
The open toe pair, and the pink ankle strap shoes are so comfortable that I sometimes forget that I have them on.
The 7″ heels in the photo are great for sitting down, but I’ve not fully mastered walkin in them……..yet!
I take size 8 or 9 (UK size) in men’s shoes and have no trouble at all getting shoes. I love shoes!!!!!
Nice boots & sandals!!
Hello?
In reading the comments left, I have seen that there are alot of womyn who are having trouble finding shoes. I live in PDX,OR and I have found that payless shoe source to be a great resource for shoes.
The have fair pricing and I have seen shoes in size 12 there.
I hope this is some help to anyone. Sincerely Rhonda
Hi Lucille
I am from Australia, two pair is all i own at present and the shoes i like most are usually heels with fine straps around the heel,am 5.2 and size 8.
Hi Lucille,
I think I am lucky to have quite small feet, I am between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall(174,5 cm), my foot measures 24,2 cm in length, 11 cm in width and I wear 39-42 in european shoe size depending on the model and style of the shoes. I don’t have much of high heel shoes cause I am poor and I find unfortunately that high heels is almost everytime very uncomfortable to wear. I can’t walk in them for long before my ankles starts to ache really bad, I am afraid that my feet also will get damaged in the long run. I am still very passionate about high heels also boots and would love if someone genetic woman could learn me how to walk the right way.
Here’s another great place to get shoes:
If you create a profile, you can expedite return of shoes that don’t fit. You can take up to 6 months to decide whether or not to keep something. You can find shoes in your size and then list them from highest to lowest discount.
Shoes in the photos are the Balenciagas and a pair of 5″ Miu Miu strappy heels. I find that the strappy heels keep my feet in them quite securely and they’re easier on my feet than pumps.
Whoops, wrong pic! What a blonde! HERE is the pic of the Louboutins…
I’m kinda reluctant to even mention how many pairs of shoes I have; let’s just say my friends compare me favorably to Imelda Marcos 🙂 I’m an 8 1/2 or 9, depending on style and make. My only pair of Louboutins (yes, to die for!) are in the accompanying pic. For shoe shopping online, best bets are Zappos, Heels.com, SmartBargains and Piperlime; in stores, Macy’s and DSW are my faves.
