Are you afraid to step out as a woman for fear of not “passing?”
Instead of fixating on passing, my advice to crossdressers and transgender women has always been to try to “blend in” as a woman instead. (Read more on that topic here.)
But lately, I’ve been wondering… Is blending in REALLY the ultimate goal when presenting as female?
After all, why wear cute outfits, style your hair, or apply makeup if no one notices?
I think it’s a natural feminine desire to want to stand out and make a statement. Does your inner woman share this desire?
This is an interesting topic, and I’d love to hear your thoughts:
- Do you enjoy getting positive attention when presenting yourself as a woman?
- Or do you prefer to blend in and attract as little attention as possible?
Please take my poll and share your thoughts below!

Heey Lucille,
I would want people to notice and recognize me as a female but I would not want to stand out in a crowd. Last thing I need is someone suspecting something else of me if I ever stand out from the crowd too much.
Have a nice day 🙂
Hi Lucille,
Although I like my femme side to be noticed a little, I still prefer to blend in. In short I’m more of a gender blender!
Hi Lucille honey I’ve already commented on the blog and I’m really glad to see there has been a lot of talk about it I wish I had more to offer but being stuck in male mode tends to hinder my mind at times maybe I’ve got too much other stuff going on in my mind which I’m going to try and let go of I’m still waiting on my check to arrive as well as some other paperwork how soon I hope both arrive so my life can get started moving again I feel like I’m at a stand still just stuck right where I’m at like a stale mate no forward or backward nowhere to go I just keep window shopping looking at all the pretty things I want but their just out of reach to blend right now would be wonderful to me just to get rid of this uggy facial & body hair will feel so nice to put on some perfume and lingerie and relax in my feminine side Love M.J.
I would like to stand out so everybody see what i’am wearing and everything about me.
now then one big question to answer ,
working in the motor trade since i was 16-17 , i dont lend itself to dressing the way one wants!
“pse” etc, under my overalls is an other matter , and the older i get the worse it is, i have to say that if i worked in an office then it would be skirt and blouse etc , fitting in is a whole different story , perhaps one for a rainy day !
My usual way of blending is to dress in a classy way.
Hello Lucille, my goal has always been to blend in. The reason I say blend in is because blending in and standing out are one in the same. We are instantly recognized first as being a woman and then by the personal touches each of us puts into our appearance. Hair, makeup, clothes, and movements. Everyone makes an inventory of the people we see on the street and mentally decide which things stand out, are flattering or detract from our acceptance. These first impressions will determine any further desire people may have to smile, laugh, introduce themselves, etc. Blending in first into the fabric of our society is a very important factor, then our personality and style will make standing out go to the next level. This is my goal as I work to undo all the things I had to do to blend in as a male even when I knew in my heart I was faking it all my life. Love to all.
I want to be discrete and to arouse the right and positive attention, but before i want to feel good in myself
