Are you afraid to step out as a woman for fear of not “passing?”
Instead of fixating on passing, my advice to crossdressers and transgender women has always been to try to “blend in” as a woman instead. (Read more on that topic here.)
But lately, I’ve been wondering… Is blending in REALLY the ultimate goal when presenting as female?
After all, why wear cute outfits, style your hair, or apply makeup if no one notices?
I think it’s a natural feminine desire to want to stand out and make a statement. Does your inner woman share this desire?
This is an interesting topic, and I’d love to hear your thoughts:
- Do you enjoy getting positive attention when presenting yourself as a woman?
- Or do you prefer to blend in and attract as little attention as possible?
Please take my poll and share your thoughts below!
Love,
Lucille

I am wholeheartedly just trying to learn enough to blend in.. of course there is a side of my femme persona that screams to be noticed.. to stand out, and to get attention. partly I think it stemms from first wanting to be sexy and alluring, secondly I think in some way reaching that level means a level of success. I know it is quite vain, and perhaps even unobtainable at this point in my life… but the thrill of knowing others find you sexy desirable…. that is an amazing ego boost.
I have lived fulltime for 2 years but I still lack confidence , I still look in the mirror and see a guy alot of the time , even tho my friends say I look fine, I do think the hardest thing is to accept yourself , I am still struggling with that.
If I could look half as good as you, I would be thrilled. Yes, we are our own worst critics, but let me tell you, I see nothing but a pretty girl when I look at your picture.
P.S. Drop the ‘duck-face’, you don’t need it. Serious!

Hi I’m new. I want to come out so bad. Very upset. Do not no what to do.
so sad.would like to find a Dr. to help.
I also want both. Yesterday, I went to the zoo with my significant other. I was wearing a basic white tee shirt with a taupe and white vee striped maxi skirt and a pair of sandals. I live in Texas where there are a lot of loud mouthed closed minded people. No one said anything bad to me, rather, several other “genetic” women wanted to know where I had purchased my clothes as well as they complimented me on my looks.
Blend for sure. I’m a jeans and t-shirt or leggings with skirt kind of women. Love casual times out with the girls.
While I agree that right now I am wholeheartedly just trying to learn enough to blend in.. of course there is a side of my femme persona that screams to be noticed.. to stand out, and to get attention. partly I think it stemms from first wanting to be sexy and alluring, secondly I think in some way reaching that level means a level of success. I know it is quite vain, and perhaps even unobtainable at this point in my life… but the thrill of knowing others find you sexy desirable…. that is an amazing ego boost.
I want both! I want to blend in enough to not be obviously “wrong” somehow in a crowd, yet at the same time I do enjoy an admiring glance or a stare at the daring of my fashion and style sense… an impossible balancing act? Maybe, but at 54 years old I can go for Style over Fashion, and Elegance over Glaring Insanity. I’d like to think I carry it off most of the time…
Hi Lucille, valerie
I love wearing one piece swimsuit because of my body type and is age appropriate and I can’t wait to go to the beach in femme as soon I am more advance in my transition.
