Are you afraid to step out as a woman for fear of not “passing?”
Instead of fixating on passing, my advice to crossdressers and transgender women has always been to try to “blend in” as a woman instead. (Read more on that topic here.)
But lately, I’ve been wondering… Is blending in REALLY the ultimate goal when presenting as female?
After all, why wear cute outfits, style your hair, or apply makeup if no one notices?
I think it’s a natural feminine desire to want to stand out and make a statement. Does your inner woman share this desire?
This is an interesting topic, and I’d love to hear your thoughts:
- Do you enjoy getting positive attention when presenting yourself as a woman?
- Or do you prefer to blend in and attract as little attention as possible?
Please take my poll and share your thoughts below!
Love,
Lucille

Blending in is fun the more fem you look the better. Went to local cafe and shop a few times as fem thought would be hard to do but done.
MtF-post/op… I had my corrective surgery in 2003 and with that my “adams apple” was shaved with some nerves.. (my voice is lower than before this procedure – trained and now in the neutral range.. no more funds to get FFS or FVS.. So, I stand out anyway… I am 5′ 11 3/4″ short and weigh too much.. I did 20 years in the military and now retired from work – on Medicare “A & B” and VA for LIFE.. Took 15 years to get all of the paper work to reflect my name (Rachel Elain Somers) and my gender (FEMALE) on ALL paper work (birth certificate, license, VA card, Military ID, passport, etc.).. I will always be standing out “as a post-op transsexual, but I will have legal on my side.. I would LOVE to blend in to be able to be called what I am – FEMALE and not be mistaken for a Trans or HE.. But, I would rather have it this way than not have it done in the first place..
Very well put Rachel, I love your positivity. Getting out there and being the person you know you should be is what’s needed to be true to yourself xx
