Are you afraid to step out as a woman for fear of not “passing?”
Instead of fixating on passing, my advice to crossdressers and transgender women has always been to try to “blend in” as a woman instead. (Read more on that topic here.)
But lately, I’ve been wondering… Is blending in REALLY the ultimate goal when presenting as female?
After all, why wear cute outfits, style your hair, or apply makeup if no one notices?
I think it’s a natural feminine desire to want to stand out and make a statement. Does your inner woman share this desire?
This is an interesting topic, and I’d love to hear your thoughts:
- Do you enjoy getting positive attention when presenting yourself as a woman?
- Or do you prefer to blend in and attract as little attention as possible?
Please take my poll and share your thoughts below!
Love,
Lucille

I try to blend in, but I also like to show pride in my appearance. I’m not hoping to draw a lot of attention, but I hope that the little I DO draw is positive. I like to think that “appropriately stylish” is the phrase that would most often be used to describe how I look.
Blending is key for acceptance for me, I am not a spectacle to look at, I just want to live my life & be accepted for who I really am=)
I honestly thinknits a bit of both. I don’t want to stand out in a drag queen or ‘man in a dress’ way, but I don’t want to be invisible. I wear quirky, quite Boho clothes, which do stand out a bit But I have grey hair which is age appropriate and that helps me blend in.
I would love to “blend in”, but when you’re 5’16” (6’4 if you don’t want to do the math) in stocking feet, blending in is only possible in a group of vision-impaired people
I have to agree both come to the forefront.Attention to detail leads to my
standing out. I immerse myself in femininity which leads to standing out.Standing out and blending in my mind is what I do .Blending in by doing natural feminine actions and behavior.
The overall goal in my mindset is to feel the femininity throughout my subconscious and continued attention to detail. Then continue to learn as my femininity evolves. It is a continuing beautiful woman in the present that
reaches new heights daily. My overall goal is to exceptional as a woman.
I do not pass. I don’t try to. I do enjoy wearing dresses skirts and blouses. I wear those when I can where I know I can. Living in the Deep South safety has to come first. So not often, but enjoyable when I can
I mostly blend in but I do stand out in the fact that I’m a very classy lady so I tend to dress that part often and most women are dressed down in casual clothes and I step it up to casual to dressed up
Yes at 77 I much prefer to blend in.
