Whether you’re a crossdresser or a MTF transgender woman, wearing lingerie is a great way to connect with your female self.
How can you NOT feel totally girly in a pretty lace bra and panties? But let’s face it… It’s hard to hide your flaws when you are practically naked!
In this blog post on transgender / crossdresser lingerie, I share some simple tips and tricks to help you look and feel your best in feminine lingerie. Read on to learn more!
1. Get The Right Fit
Nothing will destroy your image faster than saggy bra cups or too-tight panties creating a “muffin top.” That’s why it’s so important to choose lingerie that fits properly.
Here are some tips to ensure that you have the right fit:
- Your bra and panties should fit snug, but should never dig into your skin. (That’s how you get ugly bulges.)
- Be sure to check your bra cups – they should fit smoothly over your breasts or breast forms.
- Wrinkled bra cups means you need a smaller cup size. I got into depth on how to find your correct bra size in this article.
Having a hard time finding a bra that fits? Try the Flatter Me Bra by Itty Bitty Bra. It’s specially designed for those with smaller breasts and broader body proportions, so it’s ideal for crossdressers and transgender women.
2. Flatter Your Shape
The #1 secret to looking hot in lingerie is to hide your flaws while highlighting your assets. Here are some flattering pieces to consider:
- Babydoll lingerie – Babydoll lingerie is sweet and sexy and best of all, it’s great for hiding an ample belly or full midsection.
- Ruffled panties – Do you wish you had more curves? Ruffled panties feminize your figure by adding fullness to the hips and behind.
- Kimono robe – Slip on a sexy kimono to hide broad shoulders. Look for a sheer style so you can disguise your upper body while still showing some skin.
3. Complement Your Skin Tone
Color has a dramatic effect on your appearance (and your mood), so choose wisely.
The most important thing is to choose colors that complement your skin tone:
- White and black are popular lingerie colors, but they tend to make pale skin look even more pasty.
- Nude tones and bright colors flatter most skin tones.
Have some fun with this! Choose colors that make you feel sexy, girly, vampy – or whatever aspect of your personality you want to channel that day.
4. Be Impeccable With Your Grooming
Unwanted body hair can definitely distract from a sexy, feminine image. If you’re going to wear lingerie, be sure your grooming habits are up to par.
Here are some tips to consider:
- Shave or wax regularly.
- Exfoliate several times per week to avoid ingrown hair.
- Apply body lotion daily so you are always prepared to show some skin.

My lavender lace bra
I love wearing pink, but have been buying Victoria’s Secret bra’s an matching panties for quite awhile. As soon as I get home from work I strip out of my clothes and put on a bra and panty. Love everything you do Lucille. Hugs and Kisses, Karen.
Hi Lucille. I love wearing bra’s, panties, camisoles, (full slips and pantyhose from time to time) then go out wearing them under my clothes. I buy womens outerwear that does not look to much like womens clothes shoes & boots and feel very comfortable doing so. I also wear skirts and dresses at home.
Yes Lingerie is a Girls Best feather. it a Must for me every day of the week. Oh the Silks and Satins make me feel so Womenly and girly . I feel just like a Girl??
Licille: thanks for your continued advise and guidance. As crossdresser I love sexy lingerie as you can see. Since these pics I have shaved fully and wear panites, a bra and garterbelt and stockings every day. My favorit panties are Vanity Fair lace nuveau briefs but when meeting someone for an afternoon delight I do wear crotchless or thong panties.
Keep up the good work you are a godsent to us gurls….

Stephanie, I agree with you about the availability of nice lingerie. Even as recent as the 80’s and 90’s you could buy a matching bra, panties, camisole and half-slip from JC Penney (Nice N Spicy Collection) in lavender, red, navy, pink, peach, silver-gray w/ pink lace details and of course black white & beige. I have found matching bras and panties but no longer matching slips – anywhere. I have even looked at Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, Bloomingdales, even Neiman Marcus. Such a shame since having matching lingerie to your outfit made the ensemble complete and ultra-feminine.
I guess it’s the sign of the times since now day’s women no longer typically wear nylons.
Hello Lucille.Oh my gosh lots of bras and panties that is the foundation of everything else you put over . those items,I have to say some of my favs are maidenform body breifer with brea cutout this really holds me in when wearing dresses. it also make me feel so good and keeps my posture in check.also my maidenform high waised breifs they hold me in and the top of them do not go anywhere with comfort that is just sosoooooo nice. I wear these over my pantyhose keeps them from rolling down. Thanks so much Lucille,Love Mandy
Hmmm… Lingerie… it’s either a love it or hate it proposition. Living fulltime as a woman has it’s challenges, and this is one of them. It’s basically an issue of feeling good about yourself if you don’t have a partner to see you in your lingerie…. unless you like to post photo’s in them (which I don’t). I love the feelings lingerie give me. When I am relaxing at home, but preferred to be covered, I love wearing caftans. I own Indian (from India)caftans which are so pretty that I almost equate them to lingerie, and they, like kimono robes, also hide a wide shoulder as well as other things. The nicest lingerie are expensive, and I regret that nice feminine lingerie are not readily available- not like they were in the 40’s and 50’s….
