It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
I started late in life and I got my name from an older guy I have been seeing.
Sophie is a lovely name! One of my two cats (came with it) is Sophie, and I considered Sophia when I was choosing mine after Sophia Loren. Thanks for sharing.

I will not have a transitionm but have a lot of trans friends everywhere. All the very best from Budapest Wilhelmina
Hi
Well it was easy for me. My dressing first started while my wife was working at a friends beauty salon while finishing her masters degree in Nursing. They spent the day dressing me for a Halloween party OMG I was hooked I should have known it was setup when everything fit. She had been measuring me I knew why then. I was tall and thin with long dark hair and I was their entry for her beauty salon I spnet the day getting a pedi a mani and even my eye brows done being taught to walk and sit like a women . I loved more as it went on . well anyway when handed a red sequin gown to put on right before the party I was hooked. They even fixed me up with George the stylist He was twice my age but a great dancer. It is all history now as we spend more time as GF;s on cruises and in Key west then as couple. We are open so it works well.
My Femme name is my initials…works well for getting package, messages, etc. Everyone in my groups likes it too.
At 73, I am not likely to change it. Dr.T.J

When I was in high school I worked in a small Sears mail order stock room and enjoyed looking at the beautiful assortment of panties that were being ordered. My bosses name was Olive, and she was a knockout. She also knew I liked panties, and one day she gave me a small box that contained seven pairs of beautifully colored panties, each embroidered with the days of the week. I’ll never forget that gift and her name; now mine.
I always felt that if people really cared about me they’d use my full given name. So I just changed changed it a little. I have a neighbor whom I admire and she is one very fun woman … says what she means. I didn’t think of it until now but taking her name has a special meaning.
