Putting on a dress and lipstick aren’t the only ways to express your femininity. (We women are more complex than that!)

That’s why I wanted to go beyond the obvious and share some “unexpected” ways to be more feminine.

Ready to boost your womanly allure? Try these 3 tips:

1. Buy a new perfume

The right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine.

While it’s great to have a “signature scent”, it’s also good to switch things up sometimes.

Since scent is strongly linked to memories, your current perfume may no longer represent who you are.

If that’s the case, it’s time to go shopping! Look for a perfume that matches the feminine qualities you want to express NOW:

  • Try a floral scent if you want to convey your soft, romantic side.
  • Try a woody or oriental scent if you want to bring out your inner seductress.

2. Be more polite

Countless studies have shown that women are more polite than men. It doesn’t matter how good you look… a lack of social grace is NOT pretty.

Here are 3 things to keep in mind.

  • Always remember to say “please” and “thank you”. These little words go a long way!
  • Use softeners in your language. For example, instead of saying “I can’t hear you” say “I’m sorry, I can’t quite hear you.”
  • Consider how you come across online. Remember, it’s as important to be polite in emails and online as it is in person.

3. Loosen up

Want to instantly improve your feminine image? A simple secret is to loosen up. This applies to your body AND your mind.

First, loosen up your body.

Women are naturally more limber than men. If you have a tense and tight body, it’s going to translate into stiff, jerky movements – the opposite of feminine and graceful.

To loosen up:

  • Consciously relax your body, especially your jaw and shoulders.
  • Stretch your muscles on a daily basis.
  • Take lots of deep, relaxing breaths.

This will do more to feminize your movements than all the hip shaking in the world!

Next, loosen up your mind.

The happiest crossdressers and transgender women I know don’t get hung up on “passing” or trying to please everybody.

Instead, they embrace who they are while constantly striving to improve themselves.

Life is short, so above all, relax and enjoy the journey!

  1. For me it’s exercising to develop a more feminine shape. I always wear a sports bra and hot shorts. Doing a ballet workout and other exercises that concentrate on abs (especially obliques), butt and legs reshapes my body and makes me happier with how I look. Another advantage of ballet workouts is they get me to pay closer attention to my posture which is extremely important for a more feminine look.

  2. Feeeling more feminine when out is a by product of confidence with me. I have found a dress shop where I can go in and try on clothing and the girls there treat me like any other woman, they are even complimentary and supportive. One major key is to dress appropriately. During the day I dress either professionally or a nice pair of jeans. I can walk down the street without sticking out and that in itself gives you confidence. I remember one time after leving the shop and walking down the street and looking in the window of Victoria’s Secret. I felt so good I decided to walk in and browse. To my surprise the sales women were incredibly helpful and polite, one even openly supportive. It is all attitude. One last note os to go shopping during slow times. Late mornings and mid afternoon when it is slow with less patrons in the stores.
    At home just get in a nice silky robe or nightie with a glass of wine after shaving smooth and rubbing some nice moisturizer on….MMMM

  3. I found just getting out and talking to people. When I go shopping Ill just talk to other ladies and ask for advice or compliment them I have revived so much from this it boost my confidence as a woman and is fun. I also joined a church for LBGT and several groups which has given me more confidence. Remember dress appropriately walk with confidence act like a lady in control I found is the key. I have been asked by genetic women how to act more confident and been told I carry my self with class and dress classy.

  4. There does not seem to be any new advice here, but agree that being more comfortable with who we are is the key, which is the biggest hurtle of them all.

    • I meant to say, being more comfortable with who we are out in public is the largest hurtle, which is not easy if you don’t know many other crossdressers.

I feel more femme when I finally settle down for the evening and take a shower and put on some nice lotions all over my body put on some sexy lingerie, sometimes just wearing a sexy top with some cute panties gives me so much pleasure but most of the time I wear some sexy feminine nighties.
