Are you excited to embrace your fabulous female self? Having the right tools is key!
While some transgender / crossdressing supplies are obvious, there are important items you might not have considered that can help you look and feel your best as a woman.
In this blog post, I share 10 must-have essentials for your male to female transformation journey.
1. Breast Forms
Breasts are arguably the most feminine part of a woman’s body.
If you don’t possess your own natural curves, then investing in a pair of breast forms is a must for any crossdresser or transgender woman. (Of course, you’ll also need a cute bra to put them in!)
2. Color Corrector
Dealing with a visible beard shadow can be a major challenge in putting your best face forward.
Although it may be tempting to camouflage it with thick concealer, the result never appears natural.
Instead, invest in a pink or red color corrector to help neutralize the tone of your beard shadow. This enables you to use less makeup and achieve a more natural and feminine appearance.
(Note: Check out The Makeup Magic Program for expert tips on concealing a beard shadow, using makeup to feminize your face, and so much more!)
3. Body Shaper
A body shaper is a versatile garment that offers multiple benefits, including waist trimming, belly flattening, and overall shape smoothing.
Body shapers come in a variety of styles. Opt for a brief style to wear under shorter skirts and a thigh-length style for pants and longer skirts.
To feminize your lower body, look for a body shaper with hip and butt padding to create the illusion of curves.
4. Perfume
The right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine!
The secret is to choose a fragrance that matches the qualities you want to express. Here are some simple guidelines:
- Go for floral scents if you want to express your romantic side.
- Choose oriental or woody scents if you want to bring out your inner seductress.

5. Black Pantyhose Or Tights
While bare legs may be fashionable, there’s nothing quite like the sophisticated appeal of hosiery. Classic black pantyhose or tights, in particular, are a style must-have.
When opting for pantyhose, choose the sheerest hose available and stick to jet black. Avoid shades like gray-black or brown-black.
Alternatively, you can go for opaque tights for a more casual and youthful look.
6. Lipstick
Studies show that a woman’s lips are considered the most attractive part of her body, particularly when accentuated with lipstick.
It goes without saying that lipstick is an essential item that will instantly make you look more feminine and attractive.
7. Classic Pumps
Shoes say more about you than any other accessory. When it comes to making a statement, you can’t go wrong with a timeless pair of black pumps.
Classic black pumps exude sexiness, femininity, and work well with many types of clothes.
8. Moisturizer
Due to higher testosterone levels, males tend to have rougher skin compared to women.
That’s why it’s essential to incorporate a daily facial moisturizer into your routine, whether you’re presenting as your feminine self or not.
By using moisturizer regularly, you can achieve smoother-looking skin and enhance the application and longevity of your makeup.
9. Little Black Dress
The little black dress is a wardrobe staple every crossdresser and transgender woman should own. A simple black dress in a flattering length can go from day to night and will never go out of style.
10. Attitude
Lastly, the key to it all is your attitude – and it’s absolutely crucial!
The way people treat you often reflects how you expect to be treated. So, embrace your femininity and radiate fabulousness with confidence. You deserve nothing less, girlfriend!
Now I’d like to hear from YOU!

hi,i have most of the things you mentioned.i’d like to get some jeans ,nice and tight show my butt.any suggestions where or what kind to get.i am a size 36waist 32 length in mens.
Try Boohoo they have excellent jeans, i have purched a number of jeans at a good price
I’m older, retired, and been on HRT for several years. My doctors, massage spa, and a few others know about me. Most of family and friends do not. However, I am a woman 24/7. I choose clothes that are like mens clothes to wear around family and this Baptist Bible Thumping town. I have long hair that I keep permed. I carry a purse but around here turn the back out and it can pass as a man bag. In the style of dress I do, people who know me see me as a man, people who don’t know me see and treat me as a woman. People who know me don’t seem to see the zippers and buttons are on the wrong side. If you blend in, people just don’t notice that much. On HRT, my body hair disappeared and my beard is so light in color I can shave and don’t need a consealer. When we travel, I dress more feminine and use more jewery and some lipstick. No way can I go into a men’s room among strangers without causing a stir. My wife and I just go as two girlfriends. It was hard when I finally admitted to my self I was a TS. It was harder telling my wife. But we worked through it. On Saturday is our 50th Anniversary. We now shop together as she appreciates my taste in clothing. Since I admitted all this to my wife and doctors and got put on HRT, I had to be taken off all blood pressure meds. The stress was that great before to cause the BP problems. I was born in a different time and place so there are some who are so homophobic I can’t come out to without causing major problems in the family. This way I can be happy and they are happy. When I came out to the doc and said I had lived my life for others all these years and wanted to live the final years for me. He was great and helped me go on HRT.
I have been crossdressing for only about 8 months and am 69 years of age. I do not go out but thoroughly enjoy dressing in private at home. I have just about all of your top ten items except the make up. I only use lipstick and day and night moisturisers. I am just starting your flat2femme program. I am not aiming very high but would love to have sufficient breasts to just notice under a shirt when I go out.
I would suggest a classic shoulder purse. I have been using a Coach bag since about 1970. It has held up well, and is always in style, except for dressy occasions.
I don’t wear ballet flats; they don’t hold up well walking on concrete sidewalks. But I have a pair of black Mary Jane flats by Tic Tac Toe that I often wear. They are both durable and comfortable; and there’s an added plus in that the soles are waterproof, so I only get wet feet if I step in a puddle.
Hi Lucille,
I too have a fairly comprehensive girly collection that I love to wear
as often as possible.
At the moment I’m trying very hard to grow breasts by following
your course, this is a slow process but things are developing.
Breast forms may be acceptable but I prefer to have real boobs
if possible. Look forward to your next tutorial. Lots of love.
I like this list but i agree with a few of the other ladies the pumps are a bit much I am 6ft tall and I wear flats i hate all the attention and it is what you get when your tall then add heel.
Little question: is there a good place i can go to figure out how to do makeup so I don’t look like a clown. It has got to be my only part I have not had sucess at in tring to become women in apperance. I just look like a man drssing in womens cloth. please help me with this one.
Here I am again. I don’t know why I neglected to mention it before, but the best cosmetic item you can use is a smile. Look around and you will see that it is one of the things that really separates the girls from the boys!

Hi Kelly
Believe it or not, most salons, and cosmetics departments in major department stores, will be happy to see you come in and ask for makeup help. Of course, they have products and services to sell, so to make them happy you might part with some dollars, and they will try to make you happy, especially if you return occasionally. You might also find a crossdresser support service in your area. They are here and there, and one of their specialties is makeup assistance. Best of luck.
Joan
Hi Kelly, I have the same concerns you have. I am also 6ft tall and worry about my height. I just recently worked up the nerve to go out in public (thanks to a very supportive wife). I wear flats, dress nice but not over the top. I try to blend in and not draw attention to myself. I also don’t go overboard with my makeup. The eyes I think are most important. I use a good amount of eye liner to bring out my eyes but use earth tone color eye shadow instead of blue or something. I also prefer pink lipstick vs. something really bold. Only once did I use a dark red in public and that was on New Year’s Eve so I got all dressed up for that.
Going outdoors en femme is scary but it’s liberating! I don’t feel I do my makeup well but it’s good enough. People have looked at me directly up close and just glanced away apparently without thinking twice. Having a supportive partner with you really helps and I am so grateful to have one! With a little practice your makeup will look great and you’ll be walking by people with confidence! Look for “how to” videos on youtube or sites like Covergirl, etc.
Good Luck Kelly! I wish you the best!
Kathy
I have my breasts, bras, panties, some panyhose (not black, though). I am a Tgirl and have been going out en femme for about 4 years, but need to lose some weight.

Rachyl,
This may sound like a dumb question but do u know how to lose the weight u mention? I created a diet/exercise regime for myself and have lost 14 pounds in 2 months (173 to 159 pounds). If u are interested in the details, see my replies to Cassandra at the top of October 2011.
