Do you love wearing dresses? I sure hope you do! There’s nothing quite as enjoyable as putting on a sexy, feminine dress.
With so many choices available, from mini dresses to gowns, you might be wondering which dress styles are best for crossdressers and trans women.
The key is to choose a dress that both flatters and feminizes your figure – while making you feel great!
In this blog post, I’ll share my top 5 dress picks for crossdressers and transgender women.
1. Empire Waist Dress
Empire waist dresses feature a raised waistline that falls just below the bust. This style is perfect for concealing a fuller midsection while elongating the look of the legs.
2. Cinched Waist Dress
A classic, feminine style, cinched waist dresses add fullness around the hips while defining the look of the waist.
3. Peplum Dress
A peplum is a short, gathered “overskirt” attached to the waist of a garment. It’s one of my favorite dresses for crossdressers and transgender women because it creates instant, flattering curves.
4. Wrap Dress
Another one of my favorites, the wrap dress is universally flattering. The plunging neckline helps slim the look of the torso while the tie enhances your waistline.
5. Mini Dress
Crossdressers and transgender women tend to have gorgeous legs. It’d be a crime not to flaunt them in short dresses – at least every now and then! As long as you choose a tasteful style, there’s no “age limit” to wearing a mini dress.
Let’s see YOUR best dress!
Of course, your dress options are endless and these 5 styles are only the beginning. A girl can never have too many dresses!
Do you have any photos of yourself in your favorite dress? If so, I’d love to see them. Please share in the comments below!

Unfortunately, I have a hunchback, due to bad posture when I was younger. I’m doing posture exercises to correct it, but I’m 71, so it may take awhile. 🙂 (Any suggestions for speeding up the process would be welcome.)
One type of dress that wasn’t mentioned in this article is the bodycon dress. IMO, a bodycon dress minimizes any waist and/or belly problem, and, IMO, bodycon dresses look great on me.
Because of my hunchback, dresses with a waist usually don’t look good on me. Therefore, I wear blouse and skirt combinations, so I can locate the waist where I want it to be. 🙂
Also, as someone else pointed out, a few interchangeable blouses and skirts can result in a large number of clothing choices. Twelve blouses and twelve skirts, all of which go together, will effectively result in 144 different outfits!
Understand the back curve issue. Ive seen a Physical Therapist for my same issue and wanted to get fitted for a brace of some type. She said bad idea and put me on a series of exercises which do help. The biggest thing is being conscious of your posture 24/7. The exercises are simple and if repeated two to three times a day do really help. Like the F to F program patience is key. Let me know if youd like a link. Lia
Posture is one of the few ways in which my stubbornness has hurt me. I’ve never thought of my stubbornness as a particularly bad thing (not falling for a lot of b.s. :)) but in this case it definitely was. Styles that tend to play down the shoulders don’t always look good on someone with bad posture. If I’d have realized how critical posture is to being a pretty lady, I’l have paid more attention when I was younger!
I found a program over the internet called “posture makeover”, and it seems to have helped somewhat, although the progress is definitely s-l-o-w.
Since your posture exercises were recommended by a physical therapist, by all means do send me the link! And thanks!

I love wearing full skirts with a camisole and nice girly top. I have several circle shirts and a few pencil skirts that make me feel so feminine and sexy. I admit I love going out fully dresses in a fashionable shirt, pretty purple top and cute sandals. The tops I wear show off my developing breasts very well. I am so thrilled that my breasts are feeling so feminine and perky. I don’t have any pics to share right now but maybe later.
