A girl can never own too many bras, right?
But with so many bra options to choose from, it’s easy to go wrong and wear a bra that’s the incorrect size or style for your body type.
Want to enhance your feminine curves – without wasting money on bad bra purchases?
In this post, I share how to flatter and feminize your body with the 7 best bras for trans women and crossdressers.
1. Pocket Bra
A pocket bra, or mastectomy bra, has pockets in the cups to hold breast forms securely in place. If you wear breast forms (especially large or heavy forms), a pocket bra is a must.
2. Front Closure Bra
Crossdressers and transgender women tend to have wide rib cages and/or widely spaced breasts. This can make it hard to find a bra that fits properly.
Enter the front closure bra. Front closure bras have a clasp in the front of the bra instead of the back. These bras have wider set cups, making them easier to fit.
3. T-shirt Bra
The t-shirt bra is every girl’s best friend. It’s a seamless, molded cup bra that’s designed to look smooth under your clothes – even the most form-fitting tee. Best of all, t-shirt bras come in a wide range of sizes.
4. Convertible Bra
A common complaint I hear from crossdressers and transgender women is that many bras have straps that aren’t long enough for them.
Convertible bras offer a perfect solution. Convertible bras have removable straps that can be worn in different ways – including crisscrossed. Because of this, they have longer straps than regular bras.
5. Balconette Bra
Balconette bras have cups that are cut horizontally across the bust. This is a beautiful cup style that’s particularly flattering to wide rib cages and/or wide set breasts.
Most balconette bras are padded, so they’re also great for giving “the girls” some extra oomph.
6. Wireless Bra
Underwire bras offer maximum support, so they’re ideal if you wear breast forms. However, they can be hard to fit if you have a wide chest.
Consider wearing a wireless bra instead. Wireless bras have a more forgiving fit, so they’re much more comfortable.
If you want to wear a soft cup bra with breast forms, look for a wireless pocketed bra or attach the breast forms to your chest with tape or adhesive.
7. Adhesive Bra
Adhesive bras are a backless, strapless bra style that’s attached to the breasts with adhesive.
These bras are fabulous for creating cleavage, so they’re a must for your femme wardrobe. (Click here to learn more about how to create cleavage with an adhesive bra.)
In conclusion
While you don’t need to limit yourself to these 7 bra styles (the sky’s the limit in bra land!), they’re a great place to start.
Now I’d like to hear about YOUR favorite bras. Is there a particular bra style or brand that works for you?

I love wearing bras too and you look good in yours.
I looking to find a sexy bralette and I need suggestions on where to buy one.
Does anybody knows where to go besides target to get a great looking bra for a good price
I love Kohls I take my 30% off coupon from my charge and go crazy on the sale rack I like Olga bras but have them all Bali Vanity fair . They will also fit you if you would like to see if you have the correct size. I have gone to the Kohls in Doylestown Pa on 2 occasions to be fitted and it was very pleasant . No problems what so ever I called the first time and spoke to the person but the second time I went in with another GF of mine and we got re fitted, I end up paying with the discount and sale price I under 10 dollars most all the time . they also have shape wear on the rack and all kohls have one in the lingerie dept.
As you begin to grow your own breasts you can try many different styles. Because you have a wider rib cage you need to train your breasts muscles to create a shape that is more feminine. I think the more you wear a bra, from the youngest of age, the better. For constant wear and especially at night, sport type bra’s are the most comfortable, like the “genie” bra’s. Wear them at night while you sleep, helping those muscles to “remember”. For day wear and when you dress and go out, I suggest an underwire front closure bra. These seem to fit the best and even though they may not be the most comfortable, you can “feel” your breasts are cupped and formed properly. I can fondle mine and they feel no different than my GF’s, soft and well formed in their encasement. Whatever method you are using to grow your breasts, hormones or natural substitutes, a major part of your success is stimulation. You should be constantly stimulating your breast tissue and your nipples, mine are so sensitive now that even leaning in to hug someone makes them become stiff. If my GF decides to “nurse” from me, I will reach a climax without other stimulation. To see your cleavage in a well fitting bra, to feel them jiggle when you walk, to feel how sensitive they have become, nothing can make you more feminine than that!!
I have started to wear one due to gynecomastia and it was down to trial and error, but I have a couple more that are so comfortable that within minutes you quickly forget you are wearing them, never give up, keep trying and ask for help!! I started with cheaper odds from Asda and Sainsbury’s then Bon Marché, they give the support, so the rubbing, dont make it to obvious and are comfortable
I wear bralettes. Many of them come with pockets with removable pads. They help me fill out the cups. They make me look like a small A cup. Once I start taking female hormones, and my breasts start growing, I will probably continue to wear them until I am at least a small B cup and can wear regular bras.
I love my hormones, and I really love my newfound breasts….l wear primocomfort bras and find them quite comfoetable with plenty of stretch…maybe I’ll try a balconerte as one commentor above suggested….thks for the tips tgforever
I shared with a friend that it will take some trial and error to find the correct bra. One of the most inexpensive but well fitting is Fruit of the Loom Sports bras. They are pull overs and very comfortable. I also like front snap bras because the straps usually do not fall off my shoulders and the bras that have straps in the front that are pulled towards the middle and snap in the front are excellent. Different bras also work for different dresses and blouses. Finding the most comfortable bras are so important to the transgenders feminine identity and should be a pleasure and joy to ware.
I think I have every style and type of bra that you can own. I love the comfort of a Tee Shirt bra, the molded underwire bra is perfect for keeping my sides from slipping out and generally keep my breasts in the shape I want them to be, strapless bra’s… err, my skin must produce too much oil or sweat as these do not work for me? Can’t have them on for even 2 hours when they suddenly are adhering to my skin anymore and I don’t use them if I want to keep the girls up and proper all day and night. Wireless bra’s are super comfy but also allow the girls to roam all over the place.. free range breast joke. Balconette are a kind mix between full coverage and tee shirt, plus make every stand up and push together quite nicely. 🙂 As for pocket bra’s.. I love the feeling I get when I look down or stand infront of a mirror but as time has gone on, I don’t want anything that’s not 100% me. I am growing my hair out, it’s curly and unmanageable but it’s my real hair! 🙂 I want real feeling breasts and not something that I can take out the next morning cause it’s time for work. I look forward to wearing a bra out in town BECAUSE I have breasts and want to support them so they don’t go all saggy right off the bat. Hope that makes sense and sorry if that hurt anyone’s feelings feelings.
