When you do your makeup, you probably put a lot of focus on your eyes and your lips. But what about your brows?
The eyebrows are one of your most important facial features. In fact, they have the power to completely change the look of your face.
For crossdressers and MTF transgender women, this means you can’t ignore your brows!
In this blog post, I share tips on how to feminize male to female eyebrows, including shaping, grooming, and using makeup to create your most feminine look.
Tips For Shaping MTF Eyebrows
As you can see from the photo of Laverne Cox above, gorgeously shaped brows add so much definition and feminine beauty to the face. Here’s how to achieve this effect for yourself:
Have your eyebrows professionally shaped
My #1 tip is to have your eyebrows professionally shaped if possible. An eyebrow artist will know exactly how to shape your brows to create the best shape for your face.
While eyebrow waxing is popular, I personally prefer eyebrow threading. This creates a more precise shape. It also tends to be more cost effective.
You can often find affordable eyebrow threading kiosks at the mall or in shopping centers. Just be sure to read reviews to find the best providers.
Shape your own eyebrows
If you prefer to tweeze your own brows, you can get great results if you follow some simple principles. The last thing you should do is start plucking random hairs without a plan.
Before you start tweezing, you need to figure out the shape of your eyebrows, including where the arch should be and where the brows should start and end. This is called “brow mapping.”
Using the above diagram for guidance, follow these steps to determine your ideal eyebrow shape:
- Hold an eyeliner pencil along the outer side of your nose. This line indicates where the eyebrows should start. (Note: The pencil should be aligned with the “bulb” of your nose, not the outer edge of the nostrils.)
- Then, angle the pencil across your eye, directly in front of the pupil. This is where the eyebrow should arch.
- Finally, angle the pencil from the outer edge of your nostril to the outer edge of the eye. This is where the tail of your brow should end.
After you have mapped out your brow shape, you are ready to start tweezing.
Use an eyebrow brush or spoolie to brush your brow hairs straight up. Then carefully tweeze any hairs that fall outside your ideal shape. Pluck the hairs one-by-one, tweezing in the direction of the hair growth.
It’s very important not to overpluck. Step back and look in the mirror every few hairs to check your progress.
How To Groom Your Brows If You Can’t Tweeze
While beautiful feminine brows can transform your face, I understand that this can be challenging if you have to maintain a male appearance. It might not be practical to completely reshape and feminize your brows.
If you can’t give yourself a complete brow makeover, you can still groom your brows. This will make you look better in female AND male mode. Here is how to do it:
- Use an eyebrow brush or spoolie to brush your brow hairs straight up. This will allow you to see any long hairs that extend past the top of your brows.
- With a small scissors, trim any hairs that extend out past the rest of your eyebrow. (Be sure to cut away from the brows so you don’t accidentally cut a hole into the eyebrows.)
- Tweeze any stray hairs that fall outside the natural perimeter of the brows.
The most important thing is not to over-tweeze your brows, especially if you are trying to maintain a masculine eyebrow shape. The goal here is to clean up the brows rather than completely reshape them.
Also, be sure to refer to the brow map above and keep in mind where the brows should begin and end.
Eyebrow Makeup Tutorial
After you have shaped or groomed your brows, the last step is to fill in your brows with eyebrow makeup. This is the finishing touch to creating perfect MTF eyebrows.

In conclusion
Beautiful brows are a powerful tool for achieving your best female look. So, play with these techniques and get ready to wow the world!

Hi.
Eye brow,s not an issue for myself as I don’t have any , as I was burnt on right side of face, and what little was left are almost gone I can count whats left, so all I can do is use eye liner, as for the rest of my body its less than 5 % they are very fine and when I bother I,ll epilate the rest of them, every few months, face included, as we would say im very low maintance and no makeup,
…Noeleena…
Go to salon to have it professionally done, it costs but I was terrible at doing it myself, and it looks terrific
I find it best to go the salon and have them waxed
I think I’m the typo queen (frame my face) lol
Hello Lucille It’s me again your constant pest lol I hope I do need to care for my feet most of them are normal size I think but my big toe is exactly that big I worry it may be huge or at least it feels that way I may worry too much maybe when I get a pedicure I’ll ask I’m sure they have seen a few feet now to change the subject I want to talk about my eyebrows I’m not plucking them now but I want to soon I watched the video but I still have no audio so I probably miss a lot of what they say all of it I tryto see the shape he’s going for but with all the excess brow hair of the subject it hard to judge just visually I guess I’ll have to watch it over and over to get a better idea but I wish to see how the brow is plucked into shape I just want to be better than I am I still cant pluck yet but soon once I’m back on my own I only care for my grand nephews they will see eventually hopefully after their mother talks to them about it and me as for the rest of the world they’ll have to take me as I am plucked brows and all I cant hardly wait and I will pluck them when I’m ready with out instruction I do have a pretty good idea I don’t think they need to much plucking I also need a better how to draw them or fill them in I want nicely arched eyebrows to fame my face well Love M.J.
I seldom pluck since it’s not a good thing to do. I will check if there are any that will come out easily and trim some. Instead what I do is have my electrolysis tech do them conservativly. When the time comes I’ll go for a more permanent treatment. Don’t forget the monobrow.
Hi again Lucille I’m looking to an eyebrow plucking video but I may have them done by a professional as you suggested earlier so I’ll just have to maintain them I’m wondering what it might cost just a guess would help I’m still a little shy of going in public in guy mode to have them done but I may still do it soon I just may not have much of a budget I need to do a lot with what I get I need a car a place to live furniture and get all my programs from you may have to slow my pace and enjoy the journey as you’ve suggested I’m just excited to get started its been a long wait but I guess I’ll make it with your help I’m quite confident
