I really don’t have to worry about an Addams apple any more since junior high school. During football practice, someone hit me in the chest driving my chest pads into my throat damaging the voice box in such a way that the process prevented my v. b. from growing or to becoming more pronounced; in the same process, it affected my voice too where I couldn’t get a base tone if I wanted to. Now, when I answer the phone, the person on the other end sometimes calls me “mam” and I tend to smile to myself when this happen. I guess I got lucky back then. ;))
