Did you know you only have 7 seconds to make a first impression?
If you want to start crossdressing or presenting yourself as a woman, making a strong first impression is key!
In this blog post, I’ll share 7 easy ways to ensure you leave a feminine first impression that lasts. Let’s dive in!
1. Know What You Want to Project
Start by figuring out what image you want to project:
- Do you aim to blend in as an everyday girl?
- Or do you prefer to stand out as a gender-bending fashion diva?
- Do you want to be recognized for your style and sophistication?
- Or do you simply want people to notice your great legs? 🙂
Knowing your desired image helps you align your appearance and attitude with your goals.
2. Be Aware of Your Body Language
Body language is critical to first impressions. You never want to look nervous, shy, or on the opposite end of the spectrum, arrogant.
Instead, project the image of a classy, confident lady deserving of respect.Â

3. Wear The Right Color
Did you know that 50% of all non-verbal messages come from color? It’s true!
The colors you wear have a strong impact on how people perceive you, especially when presenting as a woman.
In this blog post, I share the meanings of different colors so you can choose shades that flatter you and boost your confidence.
4. Check your Grooming Habits
Physical attractiveness often boils down to self-care – grooming, neat hair, and stylish clothes.
Luckily, your presentation is within your control! Don’t underestimate the power of good grooming – it can make or break a first impression.Â
Here are 5 feminine grooming habits to incorporate into your routine.
5. Mind your Shapewear
The shape of your body powerfully broadcasts your gender expression in an instant. To appear as feminine as possible, consider investing in quality shapewear, such as:
- High-quality breast forms
- A waist cincher or corset
- Hip and butt padding
Shapewear helps create the right body proportions and feminine curves.
6. Dress for the Occasion
Have you ever found yourself overdressed or underdressed for a particular occasion? Not only do you feel awkward, but you stick out like a sore thumb!
Ensure a positive first impression by dressing appropriately for the occasion and adhering to local style norms.
7. Accessorize for Impact
Accessories can make or break an outfit and your first impression.
A high-quality handbag or beautiful shoes can elevate your look, while scuffed shoes or mismatched accessories can do the opposite.
Add the right touches, such as beautiful jewelry or a flattering pair of sunglasses, to enhance your feminine appearance.
What impression do YOU want to make?
There’s a lot to be said about this topic, but I’ve highlighted the most important areas you should consider.
Now I’d like to hear from you!

I guess I am different. I started the program back in August and have not had any results. I guess I will have to go the hormone route or implants. Maybe God is telling me something. I just wanted to be happy.
my neck is small and thin and i want to wear peter pan collar dresses . How can i do?
Another very helpful blog post and I do remember the 27 body image mistakes. Happily most of them come instinctively but avoiding slouching sometimes creeps in because of my self-consciousness about my height. Something new was the non verbal cues given by color. Along with the non-verbal cues it sends, color must match the season you are. For example I’m a textbook winter (fair skin, dark hair, blue eyes) so yellows, browns, beiges and oranges that would be considered autumn colors can make me look ill. But I wear pinks, black, dark green, and red very well.
Hello Lucille,
I’ve recently made the decision to transform from male to female. Your advice has been extremely helpful in so many ways. You had asked for suggestion for future blogs. What about how to flirt with guys? Personally, I work on the mechanics look, walk, talk, and etc…, but I have no idea what to say to men. It sounds kind of weird but it’s true. If there was cute man interested in me, I have no clue what to do or say.

I put on weight to get my breasts bigger and they are quite nice but how do I get rib of my belly without losing my boobs
I went to therapy and proceeded very cautiously to make sure if it was for real (or not). Answer: it’s for real! I came out at work after making a special announcement. The response was overwhelming. Hugs, love, and acceptance! Now I’m a woman at work. It’s been a real blessing to finally live as I want to live. One thing I found during the process is that I thought I was really shy, but inside I found a source of courage that I didn’t know existed! Some of the women told me outright how courageous I am. I’m very happy with being a woman now, even though I haven’t taken any treatments or hormones (BTW: it’s just window dressing–the real you is inside!). Hugz to all 🙂
