Is your height stopping you from confidently expressing your fabulous feminine self to the world? Well, it shouldn’t!
Sure, many crossdressers and transgender women tend to be taller than what’s considered “average” for females. But honestly, who cares?
Tall women are absolutely stunning!
However, if your aim is to play down your height a bit, there are some simple techniques that can help you achieve just that.
In this blog post for tall crossdressers and trans women, I share 4 easy ways to appear shorter.
1. Don’t Slouch
While you might be tempted to downplay your height by slouching, this is the first thing you’ll want to avoid.
Slouching isn’t attractive and it just makes it obvious that you’re not comfortable with your height.
So, resist the urge to slouch. Instead, stand tall! You’ll come across as confident and self-assured.
2. Wear the Right Shoes
If you want to appear shorter, it’s clear that you should avoid high heels. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean you’re limited to flats!
Consider opting for shoes with a stylish kitten heel. A small heel adds elegance to your look without a significant height boost.
Additionally, these shoe styles can make your legs and feet appear shorter and smaller:
- Consider wearing shoes with straps over the instep or around the ankle. This helps break up the long line of your legs.
- Opt for shoes with rounded toes instead of pointy ones. This visually reduces the length of your feet.
3. Dress to Downplay Your Height
The clothes you wear have a huge impact on your overall appearance. Here are 5 dos and don’ts for downplaying your height:
- DO choose full skirts and dresses to draw the eye horizontally instead of vertically. (More width = less height.)
- DON’T wear super tight clothes. (Less width = more height.)
- DO wear a different color top and bottom to visually break up your figure.
- DON’T wear monochromatic outfits; this makes you look even taller.
- DO wear a contrasting belt to interrupt the eye from going straight up and down a long torso.
4. Choose the Right Hairstyle
The last thing to consider is your hair. The wrong hairstyle can make you look even taller, so here are 3 suggestions for avoiding unnecessary height:
- Avoid hairstyles with a lot of volume at the crown as this literally adds inches to your stature.
- Try a layered or wavy hairstyle that adds some volume around the sides of your face.
- Avoid wearing your hair too long since this tends to make you look even taller. Generally speaking, shoulder length hair is most flattering.
In conclusion
Don’t forget that tall women exude elegance, grace, and beauty! But if you’re still interested in downplaying your height, now you’ve got 4 simple tactics to try out.
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. If you’re a tall crossdresser or transgender woman, how do you personally embrace your height?

My height is just a bit over 5′ 7″.
The maximum heel height I wear is 3 1/4 inches. A heel of 2 1/2″ to 3″ is the best for me.
I have worn a proper fitting 3″ pump all day and have had no problems. Quality and shape do matter.
On a recent trip on which I was enfemme 24/7, I encountered many women my height.
Wanita
I am 6′ 5″, transitioned 10 years ago. Of course I stand out in a crowd. Wish I was about 5′ 10″. Nothing I can do about it. I do wear heels in a boot, Mary Janes, it has a elevated heel. I have a pair of flats also.
But wear I live, most women wear sneakers, or western boots or ‘Packers’.
I do smile a lot. Had one woman approach me, and told me I was as tall as her mother. A lot of older women, wish they were taller.
I don’t notice that I’m 5 10, just that there are many taller than I.
I’m like 5’8” (or 9”) so I consider myself a tall woman.
I actually like taller women, I found out a lot of girls taller than me, and I think they were very sexy.
While I would prefer to be a little shorter, it’s a matter that doesn’t worry me at all like other things. What really gets me it’s not my height per se, but the fact that my height affected the size of my feet. It’s really hard to find pretty shoes of my size, since there’s a very limited variety of them.
Well I’m 6′ 2″+ in my stockings. A 5 in. heel would have @ small foward size. (smiles) Tho, i do weigh 155 lbs. Only way I’m really going is either find a women’s vollyball or basketball team and hang with them in order not to seriously stickout. I have several natal born female friends and over this past halloween, I went out. Linda the next tallest @ 5’10” looked tiny next to me and I wont comment those in the 5 ft–5’3 range. So yes size matters even if like me I pass well if not standing next to most natal borns. I occationally will go out shopping enfemme even so with my female friends, but expect to be noticed no matter what I do because of my height
Still think my TS’ness and love of basketball is God’s dirty trick on me.
(sigh) OH WELL. What can a girl do.
I’m 5’10” and I wear every thing from 2″ too 5″stilettos. Being a woman is your prerogative in how you want to present your self. I dress as a classy self assured woman. I do get looks from people, that is because I dress very nice. I’m proud of my height. Thank you Kelsey
Thank you Lucille for your advice. At 6’1 I have never worn heels and I often find myself slouching when talking to most people. I find that most women will say to me that they wish they could be taller and how much they love my long legs. I am slowly gaining the confidence to embrace my height and as you say “Tall women are hot!”.
I am 5’5″ 36, 30, 36 so all is fine,and I lone my heels.
they do make your legs look good, lol
