Your name is a powerful part of your feminine identity.
Some names feel sweet and innocent, others are classic and elegant, and some carry an exotic or mysterious vibe.
As a trans woman or crossdresser, you have the unique opportunity to choose a name that reflects who you truly are.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear yours!

My maternal grandmother was a true Victorian but had a lovely warmth to her that I think I have too. When I was born I had both sets of genitalia but my mum decided to have a boy. Surgery was done but
I have never felt male, enjoying crossdressing since I was very young. I chose the name Alice in memory of a wonderful grandmother.
I picked that name because I have always liked it, it was a common name when I was younger.
i choose Stephanie because i liked the way it sounded. It is a very feminine name. It also means Princess which I liked. My boy name is jeff and I didn’t like the female version which is Janet.
A Lovely Woman Friend called June ♀️ who Worked at a Women’s Clothes Shop I used to go to often came in with the Name Della ♀️ XXX
Well there’s not a lot of story behind my chosen female name except for the fact that the name I started my womanhood with was a different name, let me explain.
Oona was my chosen name, short, rare, cutesy and quirky, so basically everything a new girl could hope for, right? Well short time later I just started to feel like really feel and drawn into the name Emmi, especially after I had one of the best and steamiest intimate date with a cute femboy named Emmy but I was greedy and wanted to keep the name Oona as well so I ended up with Oona-Emilia (I’m from Finland btw if someone thinks why not just use the name Emily) which is definitely not consumer friendly name no offense to anyone.
After all this my name eventually settled on to just Emilia and once more to the short, cute and more innocent form (imo) of the name, so call me Emmi, nice to meet you all.
My parents were going to call me Margaret so I chose that as my first name. My dad’s favourite actress was Deborah Kerr so that is my second name. Day to day, I use Debi.
My parents inadvertently chose it. I am a twin born in the late 1950s before the arrival of sonography. My parents chose one male and one female name. The medical personnel told my mom that she was only having one baby .. not twins. The birth of my twin brother first took care of the male name. I was named “twin boy B” until a male name could be chosen. Had I been born a girl instead .. I would have been named “Stephanie Diane” by my parents which is why I chose it
I was helping my friend move one time, he was a lot older than me. He was always kind of a big brother to me when I was younger. I saw his medical plaque with his full name. His middle name was Allison… I was really jazzed when I saw that and asked him why he didn’t go by Allison…. I was certain that it would really be cool if he did, and throughout the day I kept teasing him, giving him a hard time, that’s when he turned to me and said, ” If You like it so much, you go by it then!!” A week later I was going by Allison Scott Muzik. Granted this was long before I ever dreamed that I would one day transition. I have always played in bands, pretty much all of my life. So for the past 27 years my moniker has been Allison Scott Muzik… I got my signed orders 04/20/2023 and officially became Allison Scott Muzik …..
