Your name is an important part of your feminine identity.
Some names feel sweet and innocent, others are classic and elegant, and some carry an exotic or mysterious vibe.
As a crossdresser or trans woman, you have the unique privilege of choosing your own female name—a name that truly reflects who you are.
For many of you, there’s a special story behind your chosen name.
So, I’d love to know: What’s the meaning behind your feminine name?

I can’t wait to hear your story!

I wanted to distance myself from my birth name Christopher, but a family member wanted me to keep a name that began with the same sound, so in deference to her wishes I chose Kristina as my first name but I go by Tina to give me something new to go with the new me. I chose my deceased mother’s middle name, Anne, as my middle name in her honor; and I took my paternal grandmother’s last name, the only grandmother that I knew (which I won’t reveal here for privacy reasons).
Hills came from my combat buddy who treated me with respect and never made me feel different even though I already had breasts. Tiffany came from a dear friend who says I remind her of a Tiffany. Thank you Janna for helping me find myself.
I chose my name with a couple of things in mind. Being born Russell Merlin I wanted someinthing similar. I started with Rachel because it is close to my first name, and I had been signing it for longer than I have been out. Phoenix came around with my middle name meaning the falcon, I wanted the same symbolism with the rebirth of my life going forward.
I was christened Stephen when I was born.
Though when I came out to be myself. I extended it to Stephanie and added the middle name of Joy. As that’s how I felt. When I finally became able to be my ‘real’ girly self.
Full of JOY…
Stephanie Joy.
Hi All,
Well I was given the name of James and what I have done is just something simple and droped the “s” and put in a “i” in between the “m and the e”.
Jamie is a universal name and it can go to a male or us Females.
I have used it for a lot of things and sometimes before I changed it I was Called Jamie, so I went ahead and kept it.
The Middle name I totally Change from Fredrick to Felicia, it sound a lot more female. Well take care all.
Hey Ladies,
My birth name was Christopher David Slade I chose Kristen so I can still have Kris in there but as always it has been short for Kristen. My middle name was chosen by listening at how well the middle name flowed with the first and Elizabeth sounded really well to me and my roommate. My Mom helped also with the name being that she named me at birth I gave her the final say so that way she named me also. That is the story of my name.
Hiya, I love all the great advice I get from you! I eagerly you to my email everyday hoping for a new one! My birth name was Chris and I’ve always loved crystals. They are so pretty and they are clear enough to see through, no more secrets and very beautiful. Sooo, that’s why I chose Crystal, of maybe it was always there, waiting to be let out into the open like a colorful butterfly.
I chose the name Jessicka, after my father’s name, Jessie, and spelled it the way a member of a band I love spells it! My father has supported me through all my life, and I’ve been a fan of the band, Jack Off Jill (now as Scarling), because of her lyrics and the way she writes. So, I put it all together, and that’s the name I go by now! 🙂 Oh, and good luck to all the ladies here. Too bad we all can’t win 😉
