Your name is a powerful part of your feminine identity.
Some names feel sweet and innocent, others are classic and elegant, and some carry an exotic or mysterious vibe.
As a trans woman or crossdresser, you have the unique opportunity to choose a name that reflects who you truly are.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear yours!

I would have had an older sister named Christine, but she died a crib death. I was the “replacement” child they wanted quickly (ended up as 3rd of six). My drab name also starts with a hard “C” so I decided to honor her with a similar name: Khryssie (but based on Khrystal). The Van Klasseen element just came to me as I felt a Dutch name fit me with my light hair and height. Although with age I am not as tall as I once was!
I had come up with a “drag name” based on my feninine inspiration from childhood – Julie Newmar. I went by “Julie New-Ma’am” for a very brief period, and fell in love with Julie as a name. I added the last name as a shorter version of my actual family name, which is so unique that if I kept it there would be NO question as to my male identity. The middle name is simply the feminine form of my actual middle name, Michael. Thus was born Julie Michelle Shaw.
My old name was already unisex, Alex, but I felt it didn’t fully match who I am. So, I decided to embrace something more feminine, and Alice just felt right. I love it, it really feels like me now.
Well I chose my name because of a couple different reason. I chose Grace Patricia Kelly and it comes from the movie star and the Princess of Monaco. And I chose her name cause she was stunning and elegant. We share the same last name in Kelly and we are both from the city of Philadelphia. And growing up I use to hear stories on how we were related. (Not sure how true that is but it’s still a cool story.) So it made sense to me to don her name and I have to say I truly love the name I chose my new femme life.
I chose my name ‘Stephanie because not only have I always loved that name, being the female derivative of Stephen, my male name, but I was also aware that it would also help all the people in my life that would be part of my transition to remember my new name and feel happy about using it. Most of my close friends call me ‘Steph’ or ‘Steffie’ anyway, both of which I’m happy with. To be honest I’m just more happy and delighted to be well into my transition which is going beautifully. I feel amazing ALL the time, I’m full of love, full of joy and EVERYTHING ALWAYS works out perfectly for ME. Living the dream darlings xxx
My female name comes from my masculine persona David became Davina. Plus a tribute to a very strong woman I respect and stands up for not only women’s rights but also is very supportive of transgender rights, Davina McCall
As weird as it sounds I was at a movie rental business, that dates me. I went to sign the rental agreement and I signed it as Angela Lynn **** , and I have just known ever since that , that was who I genuinely was.
I’m not sure how I chose this name. I guess I’ve always loved it and it makes me feel so feminine. I’ve had the privilege of meeting several Ladies with this name and they are all quite beautiful and feminine.
