Your name is an important part of your feminine identity.
Some names feel sweet and innocent, others are classic and elegant, and some carry an exotic or mysterious vibe.
As a crossdresser or trans woman, you have the unique privilege of choosing your own female name—a name that truly reflects who you are.
For many of you, there’s a special story behind your chosen name.
So, I’d love to know: What’s the meaning behind your feminine name?
Share your name and the story of how you chose it in the comments below.
I can’t wait to hear your story!
Love,
Lucille
Hi Lucille,
Mine comes from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I love Susan Sarandon. And I took her character’s name. I found out later that Janet is the female version of my old male name. My middle name is a shorten version of my ex’s name.
My Girlfriend calls me Jan and I call her Jen. So we are Jan and Jen. =) And when I do something dumb, she uses Bard’s line from the movie. “Dammit Janet”.
Hi Lucille,
I picked the name Amy. It is a soft feminine name. It reminds me of a beautiful spring day, flowers blooming and blowing gently in the wind. Thanks for the blog, I love to read what the other girls have to say.
While researching names for an unrelated project, I came accross this one and liked the meaning so much I had to take it. Zoe is Greek for life.
My Male first name is Neil. In another languages It would be Nicolas. Thus the femm Nicole. I also have the male nickname of Alex. Thus Alexis. I liked them both and put them together.
Nicole Alexis
Hello Lucille,
I love what You are doing!
i chose Jasmine as my name because i fell in love with it. It is soo feminine.
My wife and I went through name books to pick a name that neither of us had a friend or relitive with that name. Sharon was the first one and she chose it. Maria was my baptismal name so I took it for a middle name and have had them for 26 years.
Hi Lucille,
Lorraine and I were born within a couple of days of each other. I don’t remember who came first but our mothers and their families were friends and they shared the same ward in the hospital. When I “discovered” the truth about who I really was, I knew that Lorraine was my name and that, perhaps, there had been a “mix-up” and our souls had been assigned to the wrong bodies. I remember Lorraine as being the most sensuous teenage girl I had ever seen and also that she was very much a tomboy – as if she too knew that she was really someone else.
I chose my name as Jackie as my origanial name is Jack and then I got into dressing and stretching my nipples and wanted to be more fem and so I deccided to call myself Jackie in all my sissy groups and crossdressing groups that I belong to and if people should ever want to get intouch I would prefer they use Jackie as I feel so very fem.
