Have you ever felt like it might be too late to begin crossdressing or embark on your male to female transition?
If so, I’m here to tell you that it’s never too late to pursue your feminine dreams!
Regardless of your age or circumstances, there’s no better time than NOW to fully embrace your inner woman.
In this blog post, we’ll explore 7 reasons why it’s not too late for your MTF transformation or transition. Let’s get started!
1. There Are More Positive Transgender Role Models Than Ever Before
In today’s world, there are more positive trans role models than ever before.
From Janet Mock, transgender author and advocate, to Danica Roem, the first transgender woman to win a state seat, now is the perfect time join these role models in raising awareness.
2. With Age Comes Wisdom and Experience
While we might all wish to be forever young, age brings with it valuable wisdom and experience.
Your male to female journey can benefit greatly from the insights and knowledge that come with time.
3. 50 is the New 30 and 70 is the New 50
Despite our youth-obsessed society, there are many fabulous female icons in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond who prove that age is only a number.
Candis Cayne, Alexandra Billings, Tracey Norman, and many other trans celebrities prove that beauty and femininity have no expiration date.
4. You Care Less About What Others Think
As you grow older, you tend to care less about other people’s opinions. And that is a beautiful thing!
Spending less time worrying about what people think of you can definitely enhance your MTF journey.
5. These Pioneers Prove it’s Never Too Late to Reinvent Yourself
Countless late bloomers have achieved remarkable success by starting over later in life. Here are examples of transgender women who reinvented themselves after age 50:
- Rachel Levine, who serves as the 17th Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, began her transition when she was 54.
- Jennifer Pritzker, notable for being the first transgender billionaire, came out as transgender at age 63.
- Caitlyn Jenner, American media personality and former Olympic gold medal-winning athlete, came out as transgender at the age of 65.
6. It’s Better to Dare Than Have Regrets
When you reflect on your life one day, would you rather look back on a life that was lived to the fullest, even if it ruffled a few feathers, or be filled with regrets?
The choice to embrace your true self is yours to make TODAY.
7. There are More Resources Than Ever Before
Today, there is a wealth of resources available, including transgender and crossdressing support groups, websites, books, and specialized products and procedures.
These resources can go a long way in supporting your feminine transformation or transition.
In conclusion
I hope this post has convinced you that it’s never too late for your MTF transformation or transition. Now is the perfect time to pursue your feminine dreams, whatever they may be.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic, so please share your comments below!

Hi, Folks
I started my transition in my mid-60s, and it was the PERFECT time for me. That was some years ago, and, so far so good… Of course, in retrospect, earlier would have been even better, but at least it wasn’t LATER (duh-h!).
Some famous hockey coach once said you never make 100% of the goals you don’t try for.
Be bold, be brave, and, be of good cheer, girls!
Hi Lucille honey goodness girlfriend I’m sitting here thinking about my journey so far being born male at least in the eyes of most people in 1959 here in the states Ohio to be more exact being born into a family of 4 girls and one boy me of course being the youngest of 5 I’m not sure why I always try to explain my early years perhaps where or when my heart was formed not the physical one that one in our mind’s I guess of course I might get confused off topic or who knows where I’ll go being the mess I’ve become lately or feeling as such I’ve listened to the unleashing your inner woman programs quite a few times wherein it states the best place to start is from the inside our although maybe not in those exact words and that is where I feel the most of my femininity resides I feel like a woman I think so at least even though I’m not yet physically I hope to be as much a woman as possible I’m not doing too well financially which is an obstacle for my transitioning currently I’ve made some progress with your help I know more about doing my make-up I’m still attempting to improve my movements I used to move like a woman but now I feel very awkward after years of covering up to avoid detection and I’m sure just plain growing lazy over the years relaxing into maleness I guess I’m not sure I’ll ever complete my journey but then I know on the inside how I feel what I am is still there I’m not too old to transition just too poor currently it’s more expensive to be a woman and for those of us here that is even more expensive than for any genetic woman anyway I Love You Lucille and all my Sister’s here too Love MJ aka DragonLady
Not bad for 70 years old. My friend is a GG and 39. Lucilla is so right. I trans full time over 24 years ago. And wrote my novel about a transgender M to F love affair. at 69.
If I can do it all you women can.
Lucilla is so right.
I love her.
Ohhhh yes, my dear, you both are amazing. I too, am 71YO, & always say it gets tougher every year to slip into my 100 % nylons , girdles & the application of my makeup. I appreciate your Efforts to do what it takes to look as good as you do.
Here are my efforts. ..appreciate your opinions / cretique.
Enjoy being You! T.J.
Thank you. You look fabulous. We slightly older gals need to take care of ourselves. Lucille give lots of good advice, and very fine products.
Enjoy. Life is a ball you just have to live it.
Hi Jane, I agree with you! I’m 72 and live my life as a woman now 24/7. I love it, it is who I am. Be true to yourself!
We are doing good. You look great.
Merry Christmas
WHAT? 72, NO WAY, GIRL! !
I just told another 70 y.o.how it gets tougher every year to slip into my 100 % nylons, girdles, and the application of my makeup. That part of dressing is a work of Art ,& must be done with a steady hand, correctly. Can’t keep up with the young Foxes, but we keep trying.
Hope I am “representing ” us mature gurls! Any opinions? Welcomed.
Hi. I am 71 and a life long crossdresser. Lately, I have been going out more and more. I am quite passable and usually get lots of compliments on my looks and makeup. It is never to late ladies. Enjoy being a woman .
Love,
Jennifer

You’re right, you’re never too old. In fact I have my HRT referral letter in hand and I’m off to see the Doctor on Monday, so if all goes well and I get my hormones, my transition will start at 60! I refuse to suffer for the rest of my life! Hugs Rachel
on grads!!!!!
Merry Christmas!!
How can I get a HRT referral letter ? I want to transform so bad, it’s something I’ve wanted ALL OF MY LIFE !! I’m 64 but still want to live the rest of my life as the woman I know I am …
Tina, the usual route to hormones is to find a therapist who is dedicated to helping you be the person you really are. If this person feels it is best for you they will write a letter for your medical providers, recommending hormone therapy for you.
Another option is using herbs, but it takes study, and is a tremendous amount of work. Of course that would be a true test of your motivation.
Best of luck.
I’m 46, and ready to fully transistion. Your list is very inspiring to me.
51…been dressing since 35, transitioning body wise(partially) since35. Plan to develop up to a “c” @ whatever age achieved. Dress up and out whenever possible, always at home…and, have a 34 year old woman girlfriend, and visit salons, spas regularly, tgirl/lgbt friendly clubs regularly. Age does not seem to matter, just the contrary in Colorado, Seattle, Vegas, california…even northern ky. Chao, rox.
