Feeling beautiful, feminine, and sexy isn’t just for the young. If you’re a crossdresser or transgender woman, you too deserve to feel sexy and confident at any age.
However, dressing sexy isn’t necessarily about wearing mini skirts and stripper heels, especially as you age. Remember, there’s a fine line between sexy and slutty!
Instead, the key is to present yourself in a stylish and sexy manner that complements your age and body type. In this blog post, I’ll be sharing my top 3 crossdressing / MTF fashion tips for dressing sexy at any age.
Rule #1: Show Some Skin (Just Not Too Much)
While short skirts and low-cut tops are undeniably sexy, it’s important not to go overboard. Here are a couple of guidelines to keep in mind:
- Your skirt should be no shorter than fingertip length when you stand with your arms at your sides. This ensures that you’re not revealing too much skin.
- Your top should show no more than 40% of your bust. This allows you to show off your assets in a tasteful and classy way, without overdoing it.
Remember, dressing sexy is all about finding the right balance between revealing and concealing.
Rule #2: Find the Right Proportions
Proportion is a crucial factor in how your clothes work together in terms of length, width, size, and volume. For example:
- A short skirt paired with a short top tends to look overtly revealing.
- A long skirt with a long top can appear frumpy.
- A full skirt with a full top may add visual weight.
- A tight skirt with a tight top can create an unflattering, sausage-like appearance (unless you have a flawless body!)
It’s important to strike the right balance in your outfit, so you should avoid going too far in any one direction.
If you opt for something tight or revealing, you should balance it out with the rest of your outfit. For example:
- A short skirt should be paired with a more covered top
- A skimpy top should be paired with a more covered bottom.
- A tight skirt should be paired with a fuller top.
- A tight top should be paired with a fuller skirt.
Rule #3: Wear Luxurious Fabrics
The fabrics you choose to wear is the final piece of the sexy puzzle.
When you hear the word “slutty,” you might picture a spandex skirt, a barely-there glitter top, and patent leather stripper boots.
On the other hand, “sexy” is often associated with luxurious fabrics such as silk, velvet, lace, and cashmere.
When shopping for clothes, look for fabrics that are rich and sensuous – rather than cheap and tacky.
Final Thoughts…
The bottom line is that you can look sexy and feminine at any age. Just be sure to keep it classy.
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. Please leave me your comments below!
And if you’re already mastered the art of sexy ageless dressing, don’t forget to include a photo.

Hi thank you for your site, it has helped me in my transition. I’m 62 and started over two years ago, I have 5 inch light metalic gold open toe pumps I like to wear with a contour red dress or a black pencil skirt. Being trans can be a bummer, I bought a fluttery purple skirt from The Loft made of very good material but it was to short on me, I wore it once and decided it was too short for my age, I gave it to a woman who loved it. thanks for your help Tiffany
Lucille,
Always great tips..I agree you are never too old if you dress with class. I am in my 60’s and have learned so much from you about fashion, dressing my age and not going over the top. I dress to blend in and have had great fun going out.
Have fun,
Barbara
Barbara the above outfit is simple yet elegant and perfect for a lady in her 60s. Bravo!
Skirt might be a little too short? Seems I did combine a looser top with a tighter skirt as Lucille has suggested. What do you think girl friends?
Estás maravillosamente linda amiga, esa ropa te hace elegante y distinguida, te ves una gran mujer, felicidades.
Hi sweetie just to let you know I think you look very hot and in very good taste
I think it looks great to be honest and don’t feel your skirt is to short but in proportion, lovely pic
Hi
Thank you very much for your advice to crossdressing .l like to wear high neck collar such as peter pan collar to cover my neck and i like bink colour dresses.
Dear Lucille.
I turned 60 but I buy from catalogs
Such as: Chadwick’s, Benus, North Style, Dress Barn for women. Winter or Fall I was wondering how others as well as yourself feel about sweater dresses as I live on the Esst Coast? Also purchased Leather leggings, wear nylons ( thigh hi or pantyhose. I wear size 14 dress, & pants / slacks. I weigh 180 so would love “feedback” about where I shop (good or bad/ too conservative? Lucille I know you are genetic woman, so your opinion definitely counts & you are sexy & I try not to compare to genetic but Trans ladies I identify with. Ok love gotta go take care.
Love…… Robin Jennifer
Lucille, I have the same “problem” as Robin Jennifer with the clothing. However, the only way I purchase my clothes is going to places that will allow people to try things on while in the store.
Online shopping is a “risk taker” because some online companies send the WRONG SIZE products that one has ordered. (First hand knowledge but the dress fits really well on me regardless.)

Thank you for the tips, I had no idea about the finger tip thing, very helpful,
Like to be told, like everyone else, that I look “sexy “, having no plans at 71 yo to “use ” the appeal for more than compliments!
You all decide if you think, at my age, I’m pulling it off!
You totally look the part, dear. Very flattering for your age, with a touch of class. I like your looks very much.
Love,
Cynthia
Very classy, not at all “overpowering” or “understated” in any way. Great job!
Very nice. I like the red hair look. The black lace is very tasteful. The pink sweater and flowered dress make you look very lady lime and very sexy
