It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
My ex wife gave it to me while we were still married
Easy, my name is a unisex name. I didn’t need to change it
I was going by the name of Cindy. I started doing drag so I decided I needed a more drag name. Everyone liked my long legs so I became Lily Longlegs
I started my life as TAMI…Transgendered am I.. it fit well. I came up with the name Mystica and it so me. I am a beautiful soul athat has a little mystery.
Hi everyone, my assigned birthname is Steven which I hate because it’s way too common in my area. So I prefer Stevie in a more gender-natural way. Ever since I discovered my femininity in 2020. I went through a ton of names that would call out to me. One that got close to my heart and stuck with me since was Serenity. Especially since that was my favorite character in the original Yugioh series back when it originally aired. that character and name stuck with me ever since. So now I go by Serenity.
I chose my name by just feminizing my male name, and it just seemed fitting at the time and has been that way ever since.
When I was younger I used to watch a TV show I believe was called “Head of the Class” there was this girl on show called Simone. I thought she was a beautiful girl and loved the name and if I could be I would be called Simone. So I choose it as my female name.
Hi , my name and why I picked it .
My name is Marshilay , that’s how it’s pronounced it’s actually a Scots Gaelic name and spelt “ Marsaili “ .
The English equivalent would be Marjorie !
That I found out a lot later , not so exotic I just admit.
I’m Scottish but now live in North Wales .
I first heard the name in primary school when a young girl from the Hebrides joined our class , I’m talking back in the sixties now when oil was found in the North Sea , her family had move to the east of Scotland for work !
At the first sound of her voice with the highland accent I fell in love with her name , if I’m honest I fell for her as well , but that’s wasn’t to be , we made friends but it wasn’t long before they moved back to the Hebrides.
Fast forward to my transition !
There was only one name that sprung to mind that actually meant something to me , so !
Marshilay ( Marsaili ) it was .
I am now known as Marshilay.
Choosing a name should mean something to you , personally being given a name doesn’t really work when you transition, let’s face it if you’re going the whole hog !
Do it right .
