It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
I chose my name Brylee because I thought it sounded pretty, friendly, unique, and fun! I also changed my last name to rid myself of any connection to my abusive and demeaning father. We shared the same name, both first and last. I now introduce myself with a smile!☺
That’s a very good question. I originally considered the name Amanda but just fell in love with the name Hayley.
Well…Millie rhymes with Billy, one of the diminutives of my male name, and it just popped into my head. Then I needed/wanted a more formal version, so Millie went to Millicent. Millie teases, so something with tease got me to Teasedale somehow. There wasn’t a lot of thought to it, it was just there when I needed it, so I figure it must be. I though about changing it once, and Willow sounded good, but willowy I am not, so it’s Millie.
My male name was Jeffery Steven, so Jenny Sue kept the same initials…and Jeff To Jenny seemed pretty easy. I always liked Jenny for a name, and it was also a name we considered for our first daughter…plus I knew several gals with Jenny as a name that I admired…
My birth name was “Heinz”, I changed to “Heike” because so I could now sign in my job in the short form with “H. Scherb” as before.
( I had not to change my company).
well,,it was so easy and obvious..my male-name is Pauli
so Pauliina was my female-name to be.
Well. it was so easy and obvious. My male name is Pauli so Pauliina
was the name I wanted to be..I’m Pauliina and proud to be!
I really just always felt like a Janet. I thought Cheryl was a pretty name but it just didn’t fit me. The more I explored my female side the more comfortable I became with being Janet. When I dress as Janet I feel totally female. It just fits the kind of girl I am.
Dear Lucille,
Before I had a male name Alexander, but I knew there is a feminine name Alexandra exists, so I decided to switch to that name. I simply went to a court and changed my name legally
