It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
Teralina came about over time as I continued down my crossdressing journey. When I started, I just femininized my male name from Terry to Terri, then chose Johnson as my last name since John was my middle name. Then a few years ago, I had a couple of female friends living with me and they enjoyed my crossdressing. One of them has another friend that was aware of my crossdressing. But it got confusing over time when I would mention having Terri time since they were unsure of which Terry/Terri I was referring to. So one day, her friend was on the phone and we were all talking about it, and he suggested the name of Teralina. I heard that and it immediately clocked for me. So I decided that would be my formal name from now on, with Terri being short for Teralina. I love the sound of it as it is unique and makes it all mine. No one else seems to have that type of name and I feel it is right for me.
Mine was simple. My male name is Jerome (i.e. Jerry) so I just modified it to “Jeri”. Which I have known a couple of females who go by that spelling.
Long ago, my girlfriend and I were messing around, when she exclaimed, “you are so girly, you need a girly name. Yes, how do you like ‘Cindy?’” I asked, do you really think I should have a girl’s name? Yes, she exclaimed, “you are girly, and that will help draw you out of your male shell.” I said, okay, and that was how the real me became “Cindy.”
When I first told sone of my lady acquaintences of my long time desires to crossdress, they came up with the name Markesha which is just a two plus sylable derivitive of my male name. I liked it at first. It was kind of exotic. I’m basically a lazy guy. I decided it was too much work to live up to being the person that exotic name portrays in my mind. Instead of a completely different name from my male name, I did want my female name to be a derivitive of my male name. Marcia or Marsha was too Brady Bunchish for my taste. Marcie was too sweet and mousey sounding. Marla represented just tge right balance of female and male sex appeal.
I have seen this beatiful gorgesous female her name was Martha and i have take her name i hoppe one day looking like her make feel as am Female . The last name i was in internet wandering what will be the last name and come stright out Mall i could not spell the last name and i right it mall . That how i have been come Martha mall. I love and make me feel am exepting as female.
People know me what I’m calling me Martha.
My male name was Lawrence L Tremaine , my work colleagues called me LT.so it was easy
To extend to Elle. And what made it more convincing for me was my idol Elle Macpherson.❤️❤️
I chose Dawn because 1 it was close to my male name(Don) and 2 it represented a new day. Marie was in memory of my sister whose middle name was Marie
I chose Kim when I was a teenager because I liked the name as well as it being nice, simple and conventional. When I told my wife about Kim a couple of years ago I asked her to choose my middle name because I wanted the 2 of us to be in this journey together, just as we had faced everything else through our 30 years of marriage. She chose Grace and so that is what is on my new birth certificate.
