It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
Hi all, my name was easy to pick my first name is my alternate birth name so easy choice my surname is my favourite grandmothers maiden name and as for my middle name my partner helped me pick it to to add a little extra to my name 🙂
As of 1988 I have found a a name that was connected to a tv show I love to watch and by watching I found a the actress in it had a unusual name that made for the show or modernization ( add range as set up for that show ) in real time there are this same names but at that time line I only had what I was given and gender issues that got created. I had pick this name that was found on the show and you. May know ( Jessica 6 1279 ) that was name I got today as legal level and the name prcillica 2,786 both became my legal name on record that show was called Logan ‘ Run. Sci fr show about people living Ina city of dome controlled by high tend PC that you live only to 30 years and try renew ( reason ) population control and out of the dome is like ww3 junk yard . I had these two name for a long time and under wrap within the family and now both names are on every legal documents I got that say the gender is F even the hospital records say as F and some of the people address me with those names and as ms ( not mr ) and since then they were a lot of fist fighting with ones knows you and ones who does not know you so over 20 years I got these 2 names and people that knew by what I given by parents after I came to Canada did not know I had gender identity issues
I’ve always liked the name Mandy but wanted to make it special to me so I expanded it to evoke the image of music and song. Michelle is just a extension of my boy life.
I selected my name in recognition of two of the most inspiring women I have ever met; Sarah Griffiths an old friend and Amanda Nicholls; an ex-colleague. I strive to be both of those people in all that I do.
it fits with me because it comes close to my name so it is no stretch because both names are simular
Lucille; When i first came out in 2007, I had actually picked a different name for myself. But, after a few months, i was on a date with another trans girl and things were getting kind of intimate. At a special moment, she turned and told me that I kissed like an Angel. And so, the next day, I changed my name to Angel. That’s who is truly in my heart anyway. Now, all my friends can say that they have their very own Angel to look out for them. Thanks for asking and thanks for supporting us!
Hi Ladies
My feminine name is Rachel. There are two main sources for my love of the name I really revere Rachel Weiss, and my great friend from my past: Rachel Gordon. When I plan my outfits – for presenting en femme – I style myself in the dress style of the above.
Another premium topic, Lucille.
I picked Lorrainne when I first decided to go out dressed 20 or so years ago, It was pretty simple, I wanted to use the first initial of my male name. I had known several women named Lorraine and liked the name. I just added an extra “n” to be a bit different. Then for a last name I just used one of my male middle names, and for a middle initial I used the first letter of my male last name. It fits me.
