It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
Me and an a female friend were sitting around and she came up with Lindsey an its been that way for many years now
hi Lucille
this is a really fun question! unfortunately my own experience is not as romantic as some i’ve read, but i love who i am anyway. i was born as ‘james’ but was never really comfortable with that. perhaps my parents realized more about me than i realized and my family name became ‘jamie’. as my feminine side gradually eclipsed my male identity, it was only natural to just keep my own name – i react it somebody saying it in a totally natural way. comfort is everything! take care
P.S I will get pic soon to you love sally ann
hi Lucille I have all way like sally Ann mare it fit me I feel good love sally
My male name is James so Jaimie was the obvious choice and I now wish I had been called Jamie instead of “Jimmy” when I was growing up. I added the extra “i” just to differentiate the name slightly.
I can’t count how often my parents related the story that they were expecting a girl when I was born (back then you didn’t really find out in advance). They were so sure, they had no male names picked out for me when they went to the hospital. Supposedly, 3 days after I was born they still didn’t have a name for me so Sister Mary Katherine at the hospital suggested my male name and it stuck. When I was considering names, I wanted the girl name that would have been mine but the girl’s names they were considering ultimately went to my younger sisters. I settled on Katherine (as in Sister Mary Katherine) as a strong female name but it seemed too formal so I shortened it!!
For me it was a matter of honoring my great grandmother. I also love queen Victoria. Being 6 ft tall requires a regal name since you are after all looking from the top lol.
my car is an SVT ford focus…so wanted to use the SVT… and i liked the tv show Buffy (Sarah Michelle Geller) , Archies girls (Betty and Veronica) & the girl Maddie on sweet life on deck (Ashley Tisdale)…soooo Sarah Veronica Tisdale! : )
