It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille

My male name is “Jan”, because I’ve something with French, I retracted my name from “Jean est elle aussi”, French for “Jan is her too”, dropped aussi, et voila Chantelle was born. Or Chanty for friends.
Never heard of the lingerie brand back then.
Beautiful name for a beautiful lady…T.J.
Hi as long as I can remember my dad used to tease me calling me Jennifer because he said quite often I was behaving like a girl. Well one day when the family were all away for the day I tried putting on my moms makeup and my sisters clothes and liked what I was seeing in the mirror. And have enjoyed being a girl ever since thanks love Jennifer xx.
Picking a name was very, very easy for me. My parents named me after my grandmother. The doctors found my boy bits 5 days later. I had my original birth certificate, more importantly I had my Grandma Katie-Anne. I was renamed Gabriel.
As a small child I tried to make sense of this. I imagined that I was one of a pair of twins. My twin brother, Gabriel was a sports fanatic and played all three forms of rugby, Gaelic football, and we both played soccer, and practiced Judo. In developing two personalities, one female and one male we could compartmentalize things that we experienced. Being an only child this was wonderful. I always had a playmate. Forty years later “my brother Gabriel” ceded our body to me. Many people knew Katherine Anne as separate personality. My family living in Scotland had no trouble accepting both Gabriel and Katherine Anne. As we trying to speak as much Scots Gaelic and Ulster Irish, I simply started using the Irish / Scots spelling.
Slan, (your health)
Caitriona Aine Mc Closkey
I dont changed my name. My name has the advantage that it used both sexes. Bye beautiful
My real name is Carmine. I could have easily chosen Carmen but I chose Jazmin because I love Jazz music and so I just changed the first three letters and dropped the e and became Jazmin.
My name is Larry so I chose Larrisa .MY middle name is Glen so I chose Glenda my last name is Dickey .So I thought Larrisa Glenda Dickey would work.
I’d had a few names I played around with. After coming out to my now ex-wife, she said they didn’t quite fit. I agreed. We set about looking for a new name. I started with baby girls names popular the year before/during/after my birth year. We saw a couple but meh… So she thought to look at UK and Canadian names. Winner winner chicken dinner.
