It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
When I was about 5 my friends were two little girls who lived next door. I used to play with their dolls and played dress up with them. They first called me, Virginia, since their mother was from there. They shortened it to Ginny. and their mother let me wear their outgrown dresses and panties and slips when we played house. I was their little sister until they had a new baby sister who was named Virginia. They let me be a sister still but renamed me Michelle Eileen when I turned 10. They moved away around that time, but I still was Michelle from then on up until the present.
Always thought Gina was a sexy name , And since I’m a southern girl Thought I needed a double name! Anyhow Ginalea Is at times a very naughty girl!
I chose my gurl name as Brandy because I wanted a name that represented my intoxicating charm and personality LOL!
Like most names, my name was chosen by my parents. Some parents either don’t know or don’t want to know the gender of their babies before they are born. So they have two variants of names: a boy’s name and a girl’s name… if it’s a boy, we’ll name him X, if it’s a girl, we’ll name her Y. Simple.
Years ago, there was a bartender at the local watering hole named Audrey. She was attractive in a Sara Jessica Parker sort of way and pretty much all the guys in town were making a play for her attention. The name always stuck with me. The “Donnelly” part just came cause I thought it sounded nice with “Audrey”
My middle is Joel. So, I am Joelle – easy and it fits.
I chose Michelle when I registered for a transgender conference. On the spur of the moment I chose a name close to Michael and have discovered that many in the trans community did like wise. The trans community where I live is awash with Michelle’s , gave consideration to changing it, but every time someone calls me by that name it warms my soul. I’m Michelle for life
I chose joy cause I want to bring joy to my lover
