It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
Hi Lucille,
I can only remember a tgf who always called me “Lynn” after being originally known as Linda years before I knew her, and it stuck. 🙂
I chose my name as an extension of my male born name “Mark”.
I don’t know where I came up with my name. I just liked it and I love the way I spell it. I was in the closet until a week before Thanksgiving last year. I have been on hrt since 12/6/18. I am still presenting as male. But I just started a new job on the healthcare industry and in the first week of training I knew I had to come out.
We did an activity in training. There were a bunch of questions on the screen and one of them was “if you could have a different name, what would it be and why”? I chose that question and said I do have a different name it is Lauryn and I am transgender. I got a class of people that started clapping. Later during the week I came out to all of the upper management including (I think) he VP of the department I am in. He was like great, I just got your name, no I have to remember a new one. Thanks a lot.
But back to my name. I had to compromise for my daughter. So I am still keeping my boy name but changing it to Andi and putting that as my middle name.
So there you have a story on my name.
Love to all
Lauryn Andi
Being a larger Trans woman, at 6′ and more than 200 lbs…I likened myself to the same figure and craziness of Anna Nicole Smith. Not wanting to plagiarize her name, I went with Anne Smith. 🙂
I chose my combo name in honor of my sisters. I use their middle names and hyphenate them. Lynne-Anne. P.S. They don’t even know about it and I’m not telling.
I honestly don’t even remember when Alannah became the name of my inner girl, it seems like that was my name from when I was a child. A rough translation from Irish Gaelic is Beloved Daughter. Marie was one of my best friends when I was growing up and Todd is the middle name from my male name, I felt like I should keep a touchstone to my past.
Alannah,
Nice name and photo, very pretty eyes, gorgeous hair and makeup looks Great!

My mom loved daisy’s and looking a them makes me happy so I decided to use it as my female name/
I chose Kerri because I knew a few girls with the name, I like the sound of it when I’m called it and I think it’s got a feminine feel to it. Guys seem to think cute girl name too!
Love Kerri
