It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
There is a secretary working with me who is so feminine , who looks like the escort girl i dream to be that i decided to choose her name as my feminine name .
My name is Shawn, I have always loved the name Emerleigh, but I thought to make it different, instead of the letter E at the front, I would change it to an M. When you pronounce my name, it sounds like an E but as can be seen it is not. so I am proud to be known as Mmerleigh.
My full name us Summer Joy Knuday.
My favorite time of the year has always been Summer. It’s when people come out and play, relax, go on vacation..
Inspite the dreadful heat, I’ve always loved Summer time. As for my last name, I’ve been a nudist since age 15 and so I changed the spelling if nude day to Knuday. It’s less obvious and I get a lot less strange looks. Middle nam “Joy” was given to me by a special friend that though it was appropriate. So put my name together and it means the joy of a summer day nude (often at a major beach near me) Summer Joy Knuday became my legal name in 2017.
Hi Lucille,
my name is Beatriz. I lived many years in Brazil and since then, I liked this name and identified with it. It is not so rare name in Latin America, Portugal and Spain. I feel as I were born with my name. It is of Latin origin and means “she who makes happy”. It’s nice you opened discussion about our feminine names.
Very good survey, Lucille. At first, I was tempted to go the usual path of selecting the feminine equivalent of my given name: “Josie,” which oddly enough my father often called me, despite despising my childish yet obviously feminine mannerisms. I paged down EXACTLY two pages from Josie on a site of female names and landed on Paige. It was the first name I saw as having US origin AND the meaning as simply “servant” when I knew the true chord was struck. It seems to me that my name selected me, rather than the other way around. Thanks for asking such a meaningful question!
My name Meena was given by a lady, who had a maid by that name.
Hi Lucille i wanted my initials to match my given initials my first initial was T so I picked Tammie however I didn’t want to spell it the traditional way so I spell it with ie for my middle initial witch was D i couldn’t come up with a fem name that flowed well with Tammie there for i asked my niece how she felt if I used her middle name she said she would be honored so my middle name is Marie
My name was Johnny and the Italian version is Gianni, so I just shortened it to Gia.
I might go with Gianna as a full Legal name one day
