Planning to step out en femme? Don’t forget your bag! More than just a stylish accessory, your purse is a toolbox for your female self.
While a cluttered bag isn’t chic, there are some essentials you shouldn’t be without. You never know what life will throw at you – and a lady is always prepared!
In this blog post, I share 15 transgender / crossdressing items to keep in your purse when you are on the go.
1. Cell phone
Needless to say, you should never leave home without your phone. Besides, you never know when the perfect selfie opportunity will arise!
2. Lip Gloss or Lipstick
A moisturizing lip gloss or lipstick in your favorite shade is a female essential.
3. Mints or Gum
Freshen your breath on the go by keeping a stash of mints or gum on hand.
4. Nail File
There’s nothing more annoying than a broken nail, so throw one of these babies into your bag.
5. $20 Cash
Even though most of us rely on credit or debit cards, you never know when you might need some cash.
6. Hand Cream
Keep your hands feeling soft and feminine with a tube of hand cream.
7. Blotting Paper or Powder
Reduce shine on the go with blotting paper or pressed powder.
8. Bobby Pins
These come in handy if you need to secure your wig or tame some loose strands of hair.
9. Compact Mirror
A must-have for checking your teeth or makeup.
10. Stain Removal Pen
The sooner you treat an unexpected stain, the less likely it is to be permanent.
11. Band-Aids
Not just for cuts and scrapes, a Band-Aid can relieve blisters caused by new shoes.
12. Safety Pins
Those can be a lifesaver if you break a strap or pop a button.
13. Emergency Info
Not to be a downer, but if anything should happen, this could literally save your life.
14. Advil or Tylenol
Keep a couple painkillers on hand in case you get a surprise headache.
15. Healthy Snack
Hunger can sneak up on you, so keep a healthy snack bar or some nuts in your bag.

I also have on my mobile phone the emerency phone number of a breakdown service, just in case a flat tyre or a breakdown and phone number to a taxi company + an I.D photo of me as “female” and “male” on a special “crossdresser” I.D. card in case a police control plus ofcourse all the feminine items!!
Where do you get the I.D.’s? I really could use them for myself – and my other self. Lol!
sorry it went off before I had finished, it was from the association where I am a member; basically it takes all my official details (as from a passport) – if you are not able to get one, try scan your passport or ID as “male” and then modify it with your female picture and name. You will then have two “ID” and you glue the two together so one side male and another female and then plasitfy it. Hope it helps. Helene
Hi, got it from the associa
Dorothy brings up a good point. As transwomen, we don’t need tampons, but every woman carries a couple in her purse just in case, not just for herself, but in case your in the ladies room and the woman in the stall next to you needs one and is out. This is great for upholding your position as a woman.
I agree Ceri. It has happened twice to me…once in the women’s locker room at my gym and once in the grocery store. Each lady was so relieved and happy that i had one for her.
Another great article – I sometimes feel a wheelbarrow would be more appropriate than a purse or handbag. That way I could bring all my essentials with me. For me, its’ about being real and planning for the outing you are to make – a short outing = not too much stuff. Please keep the advice coming.
UK Driving licence, Keys, Cigarettes & Lighter, Lipstick, Powder Compact with mirror, Tissues, Purse with Cash & Cards, Nail file, Mobile.
Most of those items I have, but not the stain remover, good idea. I carry a backpack from going to work, so I have some other items, like toiletries, deodorant, powder, and either body spray, or scented oils.

The list is top-notch, as always.
I would add in my chosen colour (Candy Pink) a bottle of nail polish, for when I am waiting for my date.
