A beautiful pair of shoes or high heels can instantly make you feel more feminine and attractive.
But do you struggle to find stylish women’s shoes in your size?
In this article, I share my top places to shop for shoes for trans women and crossdressers – particularly if your feet are US women’s size 13 or larger!
How to convert between men’s and women’s shoe sizes
But first, let’s talk about how to convert between men’s and women’s shoe sizes. This actually varies a lot from country to country.
In the US and Australia, there’s approximately a 2 size difference between men’s and women’s shoes.
To find your women’s shoe size, simply add 2 sizes to your usual men’s shoe size. For example, a men’s US size 11 would be women’s US size 13.
If you are in the UK, Europe, or Asia, things are much easier since there’s no difference between men’s and women’s shoe sizes.
However, regardless of the size, keep in mind that men’s and women’s shoes are shaped slightly differently. Men’s shoes are usually wider at the heels.
For that reason, I always recommend trying on shoes before you buy them, rather than relying on the numerical size alone.
Now that you know your shoe size, let’s go shopping!
Long Tall Sally
The ultimate shopping destination for tall women, Long Tall Sally offers large size women’s shoes up to a US size 15. This UK based e-commerce site offers service and shipping within the US, UK, EU, and Australia.
Pleaser Shoes
While Pleaser Shoes prides itself on being the leader in sexy footwear, they offer a range of styles – from sexy to classic and pinup to goth. Most importantly, they offer women’s shoes up to a size 16.
Update: Our lovely reader Jolene has shared that with Pleasers, depending on the style of shoe, a trans woman or crossdresser may need to add THREE sizes to their male shoe size.
FSJ Shoes
FSJ Shoes is a China-based shoe manufacturer that offers a huge array of styles up to a size 15 US. Best of all, they also offer custom made shoes at affordable prices so you can make any shoe dream come true!
Zappos
Being the largest online shoe shop, it should come as no surprise that Zappos offers a wide range of shoes for women with big feet. Zappos also has a generous one-year return policy that includes free return shipping.
Amazon
Amazon has a surprising large selection of women’s shoes up to size 16, including pumps, flats, sandals, boots, and more. As an added bonus, many items are eligible for Prime delivery and free returns.
Payless
Who doesn’t love a good deal? While Payless only offers women’s shoes up to a size 13, they are a great option for affordable footwear if your feet are on the smaller side.
Ebay
Let’s not forget about good old eBay! Ebay has a huge selection of transgender and crossdressing shoes at some incredible bargains. The best part is that you can search for women’s shoes up to a size 19!

Lucille I can’t thank you and the other ladies enough for providing this list of resources!
Cute shoes are apparently a weakness of mine as I have quite a collection. I am fortunate that I wear a 12m, while not the easiest to find, style selection diminishes greatly above this size. Living in the middle of nowhere ND doesn’t help either.
As a closet CD my shoes don’t see much wear and tear so I’m more concerned with price over quality.
Payless was my favorite place to shop, both in-store and online and I am estatic they are back. The shoes in the picture came from there and while heels are my favorite these go well with the dress.
I’ve also bought many shoes from eBay and just received a pair of red heels this week. I’ll try to attach a picture later. The only downfall is sometimes I’ve had to eat the cost if there was a problem.
Hugs and kisses,

I disagree with your shoe size advice. I wear a US men’s 11 1/2m with thin socks or 12m with thick socks. I have over 40 pair of women’s shoes (more than my wife). All of my heels as well as most of my ladies boots and other regular footwear are women’s 12m. All of my athletic shoes and one pair of over-the-calf boots are 13m to allow for thicker socks. I realize I am more the exception to the rule.
On the other hand my wife wears a woman’s 10EEE and a men’s 8 1/2E which is more the standard conversion.
The real take away from this is expect some trial and error before you figure out what works best for you. As with dresses, bras etc. fit/sizing varies by brand and style. If you’re ordering your first shoes online you might want to make sure they offer free returns to save money while you figure out your size.
Hugs and kisses,
Jenny D
Yes, stated sizes often only roughly correspond to actual fit. Your foot gets bigger with age (all that use). I was a 10-1/2 E men’s for years, but now it’s closer to 11. Usually a 12W woman’s will fit ok. Cross-country ski boots are usually 46 European size, making allowance for extra socks. All that points to the desirability to shop in person. It’s more fun anyway, and sometimes a bit of a social event. Pointy toes and wide duck feet don’t make a happy combination. Happy shopping!
My favorite store these days is CATO. There size range from 0 to 28 and their shoes fit me perfect (I’m 11), plus the prices are very good. If you don’t have one around they have free return policy. In every store that I’ve shopped their personnel treat me very special.

Thanks Lucille for this most important posting. Very helpful indeed. You are the BEST!
I am always successful at Nordstrom-Rack, with a great selection in sizes 11 and 12 (USA); even though in limited supply, they have sometimes great heels in size 13 too. Vince Camuto is one of my favorites: stylish, great fits due to some elasticity in its design, and above all quite sexy!
Hi JoAnn – I also love The Rack at Nordstrom’s! So many shoe styles to choose from. I wear a size 10 in a women’s size. Great styles and prices. And also the cute dresses and other things to choose from! Here I am trying on some shoes there a couple of months ago. This 74 year gal is always treated like a lady when I go there! Hugs, Suzy

Got some pretty Pink Louboutin on Ebay for less than 80€.
Still love it.
Ebay is the first place to find good compromise between Price and Quality.
Sometimes the best are there !
As I’m in the UK I have bought shoes from Asda supermarket/Amazon /Primark & New Look
Great suggestions!
Hi! I’m in the UK too and have found a good selection of size 9 boots, heels and sandals at New look , Dorothy Perkins, Next, La Redoutte and Zoolanda. They’ve all got some lovely styles and a great online store. Love Cris
I wear 8 men’s
9 women’s, sometimes 9.5 depending on style and brand.
If you find a brand that fits well, stick with it.
I used to look for cheaper shoes but discovered, not soon enough mind you, spending a few extra $ is worth the investment.
“Pleasers” tend to be too narrow, “Dream Pairs” have become my favorite. I have learned as well, shop in person and make sure I try them on, and break them in at home.
I have also invested in shoe stretchers which helps.
Thanks for all your info
