Are you looking for male to female (MTF) fashion tips to help you look your best this summer? If so, you are in the right place!
Even though hot weather can be tricky (hello, sweat!), summer can be a great time to embrace your feminine side. There’s nothing like stepping out en femme in a cute sundress or sexy swimsuit.
Here are 7 tips, tailored specifically for crossdressers and transgender women, to help you look extra sexy and feminine this summer.
1. Rock Some Sexy Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a summer must-have accessory. They not only shield your eyes but also exude a touch of glamour and allure.
Here’s are the best frame shapes to flatter your face:
- Rounded frames balance angular features.
- Angular frames are most flattering for round faces.
Tip: Avoid wearing your sunglasses too high up on your face. Most stylists recommend that your sunglasses should not cover your eyebrows.
2. Illuminate Your Locks
Summer and highlights go hand in hand. Add some highlights to your natural hair or pick up a wig with highlights.
Good news: Crossdressers and transgender women of all skin and hair tones can pull off highlights. Shades like auburn, chocolate, or dark blonde complement darker coloring beautifully.
3. Try a Sun-Kissed Glow
A tan exudes sexiness and gives your body a more toned appearance. Rather than risking sunburn, opt for a self-tanner.
I recommend using a tanning mousse with a mitt applicator for an even, natural-looking tan. Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun Body Mousse is an excellent option.
4. Switch Up Your Fragrance
Change your fragrance to match the summer vibe. Take a break from heavy, musky scents and opt for something light and fruity.
Consider these summer-worthy scents:
- On the Beach by Louis Vuitton (unisex, so you can wear it in male mode too!)
- Sugar Lemon by Fresh
- Be Delicious Fresh Blossom by DKNY
- Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs
5. Bid Farewell to Body Hair
Smooth, silky skin is irresistibly sexy. Summer is the perfect time for a full-body shave or wax, bringing out your inner femininity.
You’ll not only feel more girly but also cooler and fresher, enhancing the feminine experience.
6. Lighten Up Your Lip Shade
Summer calls for a shift from deep lip colors to fresh and light hues. Soft pinks, corals, and nudes are ideal choices for a warm weather look.
7. Treat Yourself to a New Dress
Invest in a sexy new sundress to kick off the summer season. Look for flowing, gathered styles that create the illusion of curves.
Now, show off your summer look!
I hope these MTF fashion tips have convinced you that summer is the perfect time to embrace your feminine style.
This applies whether you plan to step out as a woman in public, or simply enjoy your female side in private.
I’d love to see your favorite summer look, so please share your photos below!

Almost everything I already do BUT, lighter lipstick is a great new suggestion. By the way, I did a book signing last night I sold a lot of books. “Angle the Assassin” About a Trans CIA sniper! Was the most popular.
Thank you for your expertise in MTF transformations and all of your help and tips. I was an alpha male and ex bodybuilder when I married my wife…Im divorced now since she left with her boyfriend …but during our marriage …she secretly started putting 3 kinds of female hormones and a testosterone blocker, in my food and drinks ….she wanted to feminize me to become submissive to her so she could date other guys for sex…it only took her 6 months till she had me in her lingerie, and makeup…We continued for 2 more years as I became very feminine and actually loved the changes…now I’m needing to go all the way with this …Im now into getting with guys …Haven’t done it yet but want to…want to be more passable and get procedures done someday soon!
How about 7 tips for beach and boudoir as well?
I love the summer heeled sandals. Bought a new pair at the first of May to match my white summer dress.
Love the tips. Thank you.

You look absolutely amazing
I just want to mention that fabric weight has a lot to do with being comfortable in hot weather. So, the thinner, the better. Gauze material in blouses, shorts, and head coverings is way more comfortable than cotton or polyester. Go neutral if you intend to spend any time in the sun, beige or gray is way better than black, or navy blue. That goes for dresses, head coverings, slacks, and other wearables. Dark colors absorb sunlight, and lighter one reflect it. You’ll be happier at the end of that day not sweating your way through it, too. I learned this as a teenager, and have practiced it ever since. I’m 70, and save darks for cold weather, or night time, when the sun is no longer a factor.
A wonderful blog. Thanks for the great tips, Lucille. You really put it in perceptive the summer is a great time to feel sexy and feminine.
Summertime, all the time. Shorts, tanks and tees.
Gorgeous photo Morgan. I love seeing your photos, you look soooo happy, as though you’ve found peace at last!
Dear Morgan, i am so sorry that your history has had so much pain and i send a big virtual hug. Birth families have tremendous power to heal if they are accepting of a coming out, but, through their closeness, have such terrible power to hurt if they are not. It’s made worse by four thousand million years of evolution of life on our beautiful planet that have hard wired us to crave their affirmation. A coming out such as yours, finding the courage to be one’s true self, is like a rebirth – one both vitally needs affirmation to nurture the growth and one, like a little child, is terribly vulnerable to those who demean one. It is indeed really important to separate from those who demean us, and quickly. You can shut the door without necessarily slamming it, but i am reminded of the words of a dear friend who struggled with her lesbianism for years in her homeland before coming to Germany – “Rather than ‘Coming Out’, we should look at it as though we are ‘letting people in’. You should understand that it is a privilege to know you, and not everyone deserves or is ready for that privilege”. You are beautiful, Morgan, and deserve to connect only with people who can see that beauty.
Selena, your comment about finding peace at last has been playing over and over in my mind. I’ve had to work on becoming acceptable to myself and I had to separate from those who have continued to demean me my whole life. Namely, my own family. I carried guilt, shame and secrets my entire life. I felt phony, unworthy and incapable. So, I’ve been scraping off those barnacles that have been weighing me down for so long. I do feel at peace. Thank you, Selena for noticing. 🙂
Thanks Selena! Perhaps I have.
I love wearing sun dresses , and summer dresses of all kinds .
