Do you feel like you don’t fit into traditional gender norms?
Whether you’re a crossdresser, a transgender woman, or someone who embraces a different gender identity, one thing is clear: society still has a lot to learn about gender non-conforming people.
Do you agree? If so, let’s talk about it!
What do you wish people understood about you?
Whether it’s the people closest to you or the world at large, what message would you like to share?
The more voices and perspectives out there, the more others will hopefully begin to understand.
I’d love to hear from you, so please share in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille
We are all human. Just some more in tune with themselves ( trans or cic ) than the rest of humanity. Most people don’t say much directly to me but still have heard some of the ignorance that still abound with the general public.
However I have met with some that want to learn more about me and being transgender and how my life is conducted on a daily basis.
At least some are willing to learn more than they already do.
All i have ever wanted was to blend into society. To be seen as who i am. And treated as such.. My life has been very hard regarding society. I have been hospitalized, beaten up and insulted just for trying to be me.. And i have hated the first 16 years of my life because of this…
So i guess my answer to your question would be is just to let transgendered people live there lifes as they choose to live.. They are not hurting anyone.. And i think that a transgendered person hurts thenselfs more than any outside source…
I pray everyday for the people out there who are there for us every day ( and yes that is you Lucille and co).. Thank you to all for your help and support… Xx
I wish that people would just know that just because I am different I am still very much the same as everyone – and that fear and hate are normal feelings but so is Love… Linda
I just want the world to know that we’re just regular people like everyone else. We come from every walk of life and every social class. This is not an affliction, nor are we crazy! Any psychological disorder that may be associated with being transgender is not inherent but a byproduct of growing up in a society that has wholly rejected, invalidated and ridiculed your honest thoughts, behaviors, likes and dislikes, as well as being marginalized and isolated for being “abnormal.” Rant over.
I wish that everyone understood that, I am a WOMAN. .. part of my body just didn’t get the memo. I was BORN a woman. I don’t “wanna be a woman” or “change from a man to a woman.” I always HAVE been and always WILL BE a woman, like any other.
I also wish that EVERY person in the USA would watch THE DANISH GIRL. They would, likely, have their eyes opened.
gays don;t even like a lot of tg’s , people don,t understand the need to dress. the feeling i get when i dress is feeling free to be me
I with they knew I was somewhere in between genderqueer and transgender female, and I wish I knew whether telling my family and cousins when they visit during Christmas would be the best time or whether I should wait until later.
Hi I’m Brie
You are right there Is a lot of media coverage to his last year or so that is shining light on the Trans community. And people are more much more open to the idea of Transgender people being a part of the world we all share.
I am in The middle of transition now and am Inot the process of coming out to friends and family. Though I live full time as a woman I am just now revealing myself to the people that have known me as a man. So if I could have them understand that it is a nerve racking get experience to explain that this is the real me and that the man they knew was the costume not the other other way around. It’s hard knowing that that the well always see me as a guy in a dress and not a women in man’s pants.
