Expressing your feminine side is about much more than just clothes and makeup. After all, women are a little more complex than that!
That’s why I wanted to go beyond the obvious and explore some unexpected strategies to help you enhance your feminine expression.
In this blog post for crossdressers and transgender women, I share 3 unexpected ways to be more feminine. Read on to learn more!
1. Buy a New Perfume
The right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine. While it’s great to have a signature scent, sometimes it helps to switch things up and discover new perfumes to bring out your inner woman.
Here are some suggestions to match your desired vibe:
- Floral scents: Embrace your soft, romantic side with the allure of flowers.
- Fresh or fruity scents: Boost your confidence and energy levels with invigorating notes.
- Woody or oriental scents: Unleash your inner seductress with warm, captivating fragrances.

2. Be More Polite
Did you know that politeness plays a significant role in enhancing your feminine image?
Countless studies have shown that women tend to excel in the realm of manners, and adopting these social graces can truly elevate your femininity.
Here are three suggestions to keep in mind:
- Embrace the power of “please” and “thank you” – These little words hold huge power in conveying respect and gratitude. Remember to use them often in your daily interactions.
- Soften your language – For example, instead of bluntly saying “I can’t hear you,” opt for a more gentle approach like, “I’m sorry, I can’t quite hear you.” This subtle shift demonstrates empathy and consideration.
- Mind your online presence – Politeness shouldn’t be limited to face-to-face encounters. It’s equally important to be polite when texting, emailing, or engaging in online discussions.
3. Loosen Up
If you’re looking for an instant way to enhance your feminine image, here’s a simple secret: loosen up! This applies to both your body and your mind, and it can work wonders in unleashing your true feminine grace.
First, let’s focus on loosening up your body:
Women naturally possess a graceful, limber quality. If your body feels tense and tight, it can manifest in stiff, jerky movements that lack femininity. Here’s how you can loosen up:
- Consciously relax your body, especially your jaw and shoulders.
- Stretch your muscles on a daily basis.
- Take lots of deep, relaxing breaths.
These simple body-loosening techniques can do more to feminize your movements than all the hip shaking in the world!
Now, let’s shift our focus to loosening up your mind:
The happiest crossdressers and transgender women I know don’t get hung up on “passing” or trying to please everybody. Instead, they embrace who they are while constantly striving to improve themselves.
Life is short, so above all, relax and enjoy the journey!

One simple thing I do to feel feminine and letmy girl emerge
oops silly me and this silly laptop clicked the wrong button. sorry 🙂
is to eat more fem foods like yogurt, soy milk, fruit. My morning ritual always includes curling up on the sofa in my comfy pj’s (usually yoga pants and a cami) and slowly eating my cereal made with the above. (coconut milk is great in cereal as well).
and your so right leaning back opens you up to receive all kinds of people, ideas and gives you a queenly feeling. My partner, (natal female) just told me the last time we were out, to lean back as it looked like I was preparing to pounce. by the way, my partner is one of those masculine female types. she’s fem in her looks, but very male in her professional and social ways.. a big turn on for me 😉
Currently my Girl days are Thursdays, I wake up in anticipation of shaving my week leg hair, arms, knuckles, toes and under arm, then take a long slow shower with my fem soap (no bathtub where I am currently renting and only why I can be Robyn on Thrusdays, Soon tho I will be Robyn 7-24) after i pat my self dry, I put oil all over my body from face to toes, Letting that soak in I start doing my makeup. I have talked to a on air lady and she does her makeup all the way down to her neck bone, So I started doing that and love the look it gives , after makeup , mascara, I do paint my nails. Then slip on my silk panties and hose, oh so pretty i am singing , I then dress for my day , all my errands are as Robyn, shopping, etc, I love the way the air moves up my skirt, they feeling of my heels as the clip along. I get looks and rather than saying I am outted , I smile at them and say my mantra I am a beautiful woman
I have lunch or tea with my other “girl” friends and we go to a movie or dinner, and dance or just listen to jazz, too soon its over and its back to a boy day. I love being femm since 6 yrs old I knew I was different, thank GOD my step sister saw this in me, she was 10 yrs older than me and let me dress up in her clothes, she even bought me panties to wear and a bra. So I would put on my school clothes, go into her room get my panties and bra on then leave I loved it. So tomorrow from me writing this its Robyns day and I must get my beauty sleep. my teady is ready and off I go.
I would love feed back on any and all
Hugs, Girls.. Robyn
I loved your story Robyn
The smile thing and leaning back (Lounging in my vernacular) goes a HUGE way. When I am in choir my director is constantly directing me to smile (he has to – I take singing as seriously as breathing, even more so) and when I have a big smile on my face I am smoother and more present. It also makes hitting those important high and sustained notes easier.
Lounging ? Oh heck yes, always appear as if you are awaiting someone or something but are not particularly worried about when that will be, you are far too relaxed and dreamy to be bothers. Sounds corny but it has worked for me. I am far from fem appearing, yes my name is changed and my ID reads female, but using these tiny tricks makes a LOT of difference.
And the walk ? Off somewhere else, not affected by the rush and noise, but walking, flowing. One foot in front of the other, small feminine steps. I am in no hurry and care nothing for the wave of humanity flowing around me. And this is on the Las Vegas strip folks. A real practice in aloofness.
Smiling really does go a long way. I work at a large retail store with over 200 employees in my store alone, and most of them are women. The number one thing they stress is smiling. We have customer surveys which reflect how ell we are doing in every aspect of customer service, and it includes smiling. I’ve had so many customers comment on my service, and one thing that is said over and over again is that they love my smile and positive attitude. Fortuneately it comes natural to me, thanks to my wonderful parents. I have been living full time as a female for the past 13 years now, and still have alot I want to do for my transition, but haven’t been able to afford to do these things yet. But my positive attitude and confidence helps me to get by more easily than one might think. When I go to work, I know people can see the maleness in my appearance, but when they see how I interact with others, they treat me like any other woman. That is my best way to feel more feminine. I also like a good perfume, and taking nice, long bubble baths.
Great attitude Monica , smiling goes a long way to make people relax and don’t forget smiles are contagious .
By the way I love that photo of you , you look amazing . How could anyone not smile back at you once you’ve smiled at them .
I admire your self-confidence 🙂
There are some subtle differences between different cultures and their conception of the feminine gender, but I found that a pretty “universal” trait is connected to body language:
As a rule of thumb, “women take up less space”, even in cultures where elaborate hand gestures are a vital part of communication (such as Italy).
I feel most feminine when I snuggle down into the sheets at night and feel my breasts brushing the overhead sheet. I love massaging my breasts.
My big problem right now are the floods in Thailand. They have temporarily (one hopes) cut of my supply of pueraria mirifica. I have found this herb to work better thn the others I have tried – including fenugreek.
I hate the thought of my ‘girls’ going away; though I know they won’t go away entirely!
PM contains real E3 estrogen, thats why it works. I cannot buy PM but I have got E3 vaginal cream which is for menopause women which I use for the breast massage, but have not used it long enough yet to see how good it works. Try it? And if you want to lower the risk for blood clots, add some Progesterall cream too and you makes the estrogen receptors in your breasts to work better just as a bonus! 🙂
I think St Herb still carries it…I got an order from them earlier this week. The batch date was 2014, so they might have bunch in stock despite the flood.
Sooooo right about smiling. And people smile back! I think keeping a bit of smile on display is a great way to get folks much more kindly disposed toward me than they would otherwise.
Another ultra-femmy delight is to get into a bathing suit and slip into the salt-water soaking pool at a local resort hotel. It’s outdoors, and if there is a little light rain or snow the contrast is just so yummy! It feels lovely and everyone around is in a good mood.
OK, one more. Although I love my transgender friends, they are often somewhat repressed. It’s nice and confirming to socialize with ordinary folks too. when I’m treated like one of the gals it’s just too special!
