Do you go out in public as a woman?
If the answer is no, you’re not alone. Nearly 75% of my readers rarely or never leave the house en femme.
While going out en femme can be exciting and empowering, it’s not the only way to express your feminine side as a crossdresser or transgender woman.
Whether you choose to go out or keep it private, both options are valid!
This is an important topic, and I’d love to know what you think.
Where do YOU present yourself as a woman?
- Strictly in the privacy of your own home?
- At select places – like nightclubs, meetups, or conferences?
- Anywhere and everywhere as a full time woman?

I’m kind of in a weird place. It’s really not practical to get all dolled up. I do farm work, and a lot of heavy lifting. Honestly, I get more ma’ams when I’m all grubby than when I am dressed to the nines. It’s attitude I guess.
I went out for the first time yesterday. I thought it went well. I took a trip to Sally’s for some beauty supplies.

Cute picture, you look like a women shopping on her lunch break.

Congrats!!! You will not be able to get enough now. Believe me once you make that first outing it’s all you can think of until it becomes normal for you. Enjoy your new found freedom.
I always feel more relaxed and comfortable going out with other girls.
I would love to dress more, but i keep having issues with upkeep. Does anyone have any tips for stubborn ingrown hairs? seriously I can’t wear any of my skirts. Last time I dealt with leg hair was October. I love my jeans, but common.
as of last July I have been going almost anywhere fully dressed
I do not pass but i don’t care I will not ever really pass I am an older girl and it does show
bit i do love shopping and eating as Donna

I really enjoy being out in public, walking around, getting coffee or lunch, shopping-browsing at stores. Like in this photo, when I wear typical average outfits that women my age wear everyday, it’s so freeing and relaxing to just blend in, attract no special attention, and simply enjoy my day. Over the years it got easier and easier to where now it’s such a natural and fun time for me. Keep Lucille’s many tips and advice in mind to not stand out and draw unwanted attention: shoulders back, walk slower, age appropriate hair-clothes-make up-jewelry-shoes, make eye contact with others, smile.
How often do you go out?
I feel for my fellow sisters (M2F), and brothers (F2M) out there.
I had to start living my life as I felt about 33 years ago. I lost all my close friends and my family disowned me, when I told them. So not having any ties left and having saved up for the M2F surgery, I said good-bye to Raymond and hello to Toni, full time. It took a while to accept my new physical self, but I found it much easier to accept than having to live the lie of being a male, as my family wanted.
At first it was not easy being in public, with the doubts and insecurities that can plague you. But I bit the bullet and lived 24/7 after surgery and learned what and who to avoid. Now-a-days a few may say “sir” when on the phone, but apologize when they see me in person. I relish being myself now.
I found that living and being a female is by no means an easy thing to accomplish, but it sure beats living a lie as a male.
A sister in spirit. Toni Olivar
