A girl can never own too many bras, right?
But with so many bra options to choose from, it’s easy to go wrong and wear a bra that’s the incorrect size or style for your body type.
Want to enhance your feminine curves – without wasting money on bad bra purchases?
In this post, I share how to flatter and feminize your body with the 7 best bras for trans women and crossdressers.
1. Pocket Bra
A pocket bra, or mastectomy bra, has pockets in the cups to hold breast forms securely in place. If you wear breast forms (especially large or heavy forms), a pocket bra is a must.
2. Front Closure Bra
Crossdressers and transgender women tend to have wide rib cages and/or widely spaced breasts. This can make it hard to find a bra that fits properly.
Enter the front closure bra. Front closure bras have a clasp in the front of the bra instead of the back. These bras have wider set cups, making them easier to fit.
3. T-shirt Bra
The t-shirt bra is every girl’s best friend. It’s a seamless, molded cup bra that’s designed to look smooth under your clothes – even the most form-fitting tee. Best of all, t-shirt bras come in a wide range of sizes.
4. Convertible Bra
A common complaint I hear from crossdressers and transgender women is that many bras have straps that aren’t long enough for them.
Convertible bras offer a perfect solution. Convertible bras have removable straps that can be worn in different ways – including crisscrossed. Because of this, they have longer straps than regular bras.
5. Balconette Bra
Balconette bras have cups that are cut horizontally across the bust. This is a beautiful cup style that’s particularly flattering to wide rib cages and/or wide set breasts.
Most balconette bras are padded, so they’re also great for giving “the girls” some extra oomph.
6. Wireless Bra
Underwire bras offer maximum support, so they’re ideal if you wear breast forms. However, they can be hard to fit if you have a wide chest.
Consider wearing a wireless bra instead. Wireless bras have a more forgiving fit, so they’re much more comfortable.
If you want to wear a soft cup bra with breast forms, look for a wireless pocketed bra or attach the breast forms to your chest with tape or adhesive.
7. Adhesive Bra
Adhesive bras are a backless, strapless bra style that’s attached to the breasts with adhesive.
These bras are fabulous for creating cleavage, so they’re a must for your femme wardrobe. (Click here to learn more about how to create cleavage with an adhesive bra.)
In conclusion
While you don’t need to limit yourself to these 7 bra styles (the sky’s the limit in bra land!), they’re a great place to start.
Now I’d like to hear about YOUR favorite bras. Is there a particular bra style or brand that works for you?

The first picture in the nighty is from one month ago and the second in the bra is from a couple of days ago.
The last is the supplements I have been taking for the past four to five months.
Not sure why the supplements didn’t post but here they are with another breast pic.
My top tip when choosing a bra…
– Start with the cheap ones so you can learn what fits and is comfortable
– Don’t trust sizes… they LIE. My two fave bras are a 38B and a 40A… and they both fit the same !
– Play with the straps to get support and comfort. If it pinches, it’s too small
– One snip with your tailoring scissors and underwire bras become un-underwired bras (SOOOO COMFY !)
– Don’t forget to get some fun ones, pretty ones and lacy ones ! They are your boobs, so spoil them !
You should trust bra sizes to an extent. The reason your 40A and 38B bras seem to fit the same is because they are sister sizes. This means even though they have different cup and band sizes they have the same total volume just spaced out different. With your 40A bra your boobs are more spread out across your chest. With the 38B bra your boobs are out further but not as spread out across your chest. If you can’t find your bra size somewhere then you can see if they have your sister size. Just go either two number sizes down and one letter up or two number sizes up and one letter down
If you were a 38B your sister sizes would be both 36C and 40A
Now please keep in mind that some stores do their measurements differently. It especially noticeable when you are shopping internationally because US bra sizes aren’t the same as UK sizes.
i want to try wear bra make me look nice
I found this at wm yesterday..very soft and comfy
Lucille; I hope you’re staying healthy during all this.
I’m probably not the only one…but I’m interested in your input…. I’m a Assistant Manager for a Popeyes restaurant and as such am very active (always moving) but due to a unusually high “T” count I’m still relying on breast forms 1000g I’m trying to find a fairly comfortable bra type to wear for work and still keep the girls in and maybe even accentuate them a little. Also I’m using double sided tape to keep them in place…lol My last measurement at Saks 5th and then confirmed by Victoria was that 1/2 size between a 38DDD and a 40DD So as you can see I’m in a situation… Am I using the right size form for my body build.. 5’11” 222lbs and the type of bra for the form I’m using and type of work I do.
Any advice you can pass on would be valuable and appreciated. Take care and stay healthy. All my best.
One bra I have fallen in love with is the Prima Donna Madison bra and the Prima Donna Deauville bra. They are costly. So well worth the money spent.
I have gone through a phase where I bought bras from Walmart and Target or Victoria Secrets. After meeting my wife. I will no longer buy these bras. I realize most cross dressers can not afford the better quality bras. I have been introduced to wearing Wacoal, Chantelle, and Prima Donna bras. These bra brands are a bit pricey. So well worth the money spent.
