If you’re like many of my transgender or crossdressing readers, you might not be able to present yourself as a woman each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to lose your female side when it’s time to put on the pants!
In this post, I share 5 ways to stay in touch with your femininity – even in male mode.
1. Wear Women’s Underwear
Let’s start with the most obvious tip, shall we? Wearing women’s underwear underneath your male clothing is the easiest way to connect with your feminine self on a daily basis.
Aside from that, women’s panties tend to be more comfortable than men’s boxers or briefs. Plus, they come in loads of cute and sexy styles to add some secret pizazz to your outfit.
2. Try Stealth Crossdressing
Wearing lingerie under your clothes is a classic, but why stop there? Sneaking a piece of women’s clothing into your daily outfit is a great way to feel girly.
A lot of women’s clothing can pass for unisex, so try wearing women’s:
- Basic tees
- Button-down shirts
- Jeans and pants
Don’t forget about accessories! You could also play with wearing women’s boots or using a tote bag as a laptop bag or briefcase.
3. Apply Incognito Makeup
There are lots of ways to incorporate makeup into your daily look, even when presenting as a male. Here are 4 must-have makeup items:
- Concealer or foundation – Apply a thin layer to cover under eye circles or blemishes.
- Setting powder – Apply to shiny spots on your face, like the nose or forehead.
- Clear mascara – Use it to make your eyelashes look subtly longer and fuller.
- Uncolored lipstick – Instead of boring Chapstick, care for your lips with a clear lipstick.
4. Use the Power of Scent
Scents have a powerful effect on your brain chemistry and mood, so this is a great way to connect with your feminine side.
Wear women’s perfume instead of cologne. Musky fragrances are the most unisex, so you can wear them without anybody knowing your secret. (Check out my article on perfume to learn more about choosing the right scent.)
Another option is to burn a scented candle with a feminine fragrance in your home or office.
5. Keep Reminders of Your Female Self
Another tip is to surround yourself with reminders of the woman within.
One way to do this is through photos. Keep photos of your femme self on your phone, in your wallet, or even framed and hung up so you can see them often.
You could also carry around items personalized with your feminine name, such as a necklace, keychain, or coffee mug.
6. Try Feminizing Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful way to increase confidence, reprogram habits and behaviors, and improve the way you express yourself as a woman.
Best of all, it’s the ultimate mental escape – allowing you to connect with you female self regardless of your current situation.
Try it for yourself by signing up for my free Unleash Your Inner Woman hypnosis mini-session here.
How do YOU stay connected?
In an ideal world, you’d be free to present yourself as a woman whenever and wherever you wanted. Until then, I hope this gives you ideas for expressing your female side anytime you want!

dear lucille
great advice as always!!
for those that are starting out or still shy about wearing womens clothing.. here are some that i used to use when i started out
1)straight cut jeans not necessary boyfriend jeans there is a difference
so straight cut is a perfect way to start out with a regular t shirt and blk blazer and that blazer can be a fitted mens one..
(if you are a younger and more slimmer you can try tight fitting jeans as some men are wearing this)
2)shoes -womens loafers now for some this may be hard to find in larger sizes but this can work with women knee socks that are nylon or lace or cotton
a. uggs men wear uggs tho i personally dont like them
but you can get uggs.
b. and what lucille said low heel boots- this is so
true
3)tank tops (wife beaters) wear women tank tops
4)with regard to purses or shoulder bags go with a casual bag like from kipling.. one that can go across the body as it will look more like a mini messenger bag…
5)makeup- well i am sure lucille has touched on this but u can wear make up to cover blemishes like a tinted mositurizer that can be purchased at places like sephora ..
6) your car.. if you are the only driver of your car you can make it more girly or femme.. i put hair bands on my gear shift and i but lotion in the glove compartment..
some can get away with these looks and some may not but all you have to do is try and see what happens…
I will never be able to pass. I am too fat, too old, and have too many obligations. However, I am all girl on the inside. I shave my legs and armpits, wear feminine perfume, have grown my hair longer, keep my nails well-manicured, and use a clear coat on them. Do I get questions? Sometimes, but I am quick on my feet. For instance, I tell people I shave to keep down odor and prevent ingrown hairs (not a lie actually). I use a clear coat to keep from biting my nails (another truth). The perfume I wear is imperceptable, but when I am questioned I respond that it must be the soap I am using. And the hair? Well…I am reliving my hippy days. In the meantime, I relish knowing that I am actually expressing my feminine self!
I have been doing the Fem thing 24/7 for about 3 years now. When I first started. There were a few times I would be called by the incorrect pronoun. Even then it was not that often. As I perfected some of my mistakes that I was doing. It became less and less and more of. Miss, Mam, She, her and all the other pronouns that come with being a woman. I once read from a blog of this very place. “It is a matter of confidence and not all just appearance”. You can look as good as you want and do everything properly. If there is NO confidence in yourself that YOU ARE a woman inside or out or both. Most likely you will NOT pass 100% of the time. This might sound mean or harsh and I am sorry about that.
Until I got my full confidence. I did NOT pas 100% of time. Now I do and enjoy every minute of it.
Good luck to all of you.
Stephanie

I watch make up videos and transformation tutorals on YouTube all the time. I find them comforting to see other genetic males become females flawlessly. It helps remind me when I do the same and encourages me to spend my money on more cosmetics and clothes rather then other things .
I try to wear feminin clothes as often as I can . At least one garment.
Im having a deficult time as of the moment becuase I’m seriously considering going on a treatment plan and still have to be a male outside for family reasons. So I have to find ways to look more male but remain female on the inside .
(ps . I’m sorry about my spelling. I’m on a iPod )
I never much tried to pass for a girl. If it would insult my own intelligence how can I subject others to it?
I have lost 15 pounds. The next 20 will be harder. Plastic teeth are also intended. How can a body get a free nose job?
Boobs are twice the size of last year anyway.
When alone negliges and whatnot are common.
i wear panties about half the time and as long as it is not padded i can wear a bra although i would like to be a bit bigger and actualy fill out an acup but i have to watch what i wear because my wife to be does not want he teen age daughter to know but she is getting better and moren suportave about it i have my ears pierced 3 in each ear and when i work for safty reasons i can only wear studs but i do like the way dangles feel when i wear them but even when i did my third set nobody said anything for the past couple of months i have had my finger nails painted with a pale pink opal color and nobody has said anything during the fall and winter my toes are always polished
you should buy Noogleberry.com
I DO most often wear at least ONE outer garment that is feminine. MOST times I am wearing a blouse that seems kind of unisex. I don’t even own any men’s jeans anymore either.I ALWAYS wear lingerie under my regular clothes. I wear pantyhose so often I feel weird when I don’t! I notice women don’t wear hosiery hardly at all anymore. Why is that???
LEGG’S can thank ME for a ton of their business! I bought women’s new balance tennis shoes in black so you can BARELY tell they aren’t men’s shoes. I wear “Realities” perfume all the time too. I keep that feminine feeling with me ALL the time!
I’ve had a couple of people ask me “Well what if you are in a accident or something?” I just respond with “Well, then someone might get a surprise then huh!” I am not going to sacrifice my fem side just so someone ELSE can be comfortable!

Hi What a lovely question to ponder over, thanks for asking Lucille, most days for everyday day wear I always wear womens boyfriend jeans, panties usually full ones in pretty pink or pale blue, a cami top lol I do love lace ones, womens T shirt usually dark blue, burrberry perfume, I have my nails long and with one coat of nail strenghener on I keep my eyebrows plucked, and I always take my femm tablets (for mature women) which give me a nice glow, I love wearing low neckline shirts and tops, and usually wear tape to enhance my cleavage, when I leave the shop its quite easy to call into the loo and change quickly into my padded hip and bum panties and hey presto some concealer, lip gloss, my hair spiked and of course more perfume and I can walk away as the person I love being me Vicky….Ps thankyou darling for being so wonderful
