If you’re like many of my transgender or crossdressing readers, you might not be able to present yourself as a woman each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to lose your female side when it’s time to put on the pants!
In this post, I share 5 ways to stay in touch with your femininity – even in male mode.
1. Wear Women’s Underwear
Let’s start with the most obvious tip, shall we? Wearing women’s underwear underneath your male clothing is the easiest way to connect with your feminine self on a daily basis.
Aside from that, women’s panties tend to be more comfortable than men’s boxers or briefs. Plus, they come in loads of cute and sexy styles to add some secret pizazz to your outfit.
2. Try Stealth Crossdressing
Wearing lingerie under your clothes is a classic, but why stop there? Sneaking a piece of women’s clothing into your daily outfit is a great way to feel girly.
A lot of women’s clothing can pass for unisex, so try wearing women’s:
- Basic tees
- Button-down shirts
- Jeans and pants
Don’t forget about accessories! You could also play with wearing women’s boots or using a tote bag as a laptop bag or briefcase.
3. Apply Incognito Makeup
There are lots of ways to incorporate makeup into your daily look, even when presenting as a male. Here are 4 must-have makeup items:
- Concealer or foundation – Apply a thin layer to cover under eye circles or blemishes.
- Setting powder – Apply to shiny spots on your face, like the nose or forehead.
- Clear mascara – Use it to make your eyelashes look subtly longer and fuller.
- Uncolored lipstick – Instead of boring Chapstick, care for your lips with a clear lipstick.
4. Use the Power of Scent
Scents have a powerful effect on your brain chemistry and mood, so this is a great way to connect with your feminine side.
Wear women’s perfume instead of cologne. Musky fragrances are the most unisex, so you can wear them without anybody knowing your secret. (Check out my article on perfume to learn more about choosing the right scent.)
Another option is to burn a scented candle with a feminine fragrance in your home or office.
5. Keep Reminders of Your Female Self
Another tip is to surround yourself with reminders of the woman within.
One way to do this is through photos. Keep photos of your femme self on your phone, in your wallet, or even framed and hung up so you can see them often.
You could also carry around items personalized with your feminine name, such as a necklace, keychain, or coffee mug.
6. Try Feminizing Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful way to increase confidence, reprogram habits and behaviors, and improve the way you express yourself as a woman.
Best of all, it’s the ultimate mental escape – allowing you to connect with you female self regardless of your current situation.
Try it for yourself by signing up for my free Unleash Your Inner Woman hypnosis mini-session here.
How do YOU stay connected?
In an ideal world, you’d be free to present yourself as a woman whenever and wherever you wanted. Until then, I hope this gives you ideas for expressing your female side anytime you want!
How do YOU stay connected to your feminine self? I’d love to know, so please share in the comments below!

I don’t own any Male-type clothing anymore. I go shopping, quite regularly with Biological Females. We have fun, as they don’t treat me any different than any of the other Girls we hang out with. Yes, Finally, I AM One of the Girls!! I made up my mind to be WHO I am and i don’t care about all the names i get called or the things people say, either TO me, directly or behind my back. My Doctor refuses to give me hormones because he says They could cause heart problems. B.S.!, I say. I have taken my girl-friends’ birth control pills, which have been keeping my breasts quite tender…and growing…just a little. Yes, I feel that I am a Woman…and I Like Women! I tried being with guys, but, as a child, that was shoved down my throat ( Literally) and i Have NO use for MEN in any way. Okay, I’m a lesbian.
Finally, I am finding out that there are more of US than Society cares to admit! YOU GO GIRLS!! Be Proud! Be Yourself and be Happy!
Happy TGIF lass, I applaud you and your article. Great attitude and outlook on life. Glad you seized the moment and enjoying life. I love and adore women. Unfortunately I’m older and am not holding my breadth for something nice happening with a woman in my lifetime. I enjoy life to the fullest and enjoy bantering with women. Thanks for sharing. Namaste

Hi,
I wear pantie leggings and sometimes blouses it feels great
mona
Kisses to you Lucille….I wear Victorias Secret panties every day and sometimes a camisole but I often have problems with the shoulder straps slipping and have to adjust quite often which is a giveaway to my fellow workers. I get a perm twice a year making my medium length hair quite feminine but I’ve always worn my hair long so its rather natural. Sometimes just before I arrive at work I have to remove my lipstick traces left over from the previous evening…how embarrassing that would be ! I have red toenail polish every day.
I know that you don’t like smoking, Lucille, but I am a smoker and I love my Virginia Slims 120s and smoke them at work. I have gotten comments from the guys but they have accepted me. There is no other more feminine cigarette than VS120s although I do have to watch my smoking mannerisms at work, but I don’t smoke in a “manly” way either.
I am proud of the many times I’ve been addressed as “Maam” or “Miss” at the grocery store or dept store….I certainly take no offense and I just smile……Dana
I use subtle make up all the time lemon aid by benefit for my eyes a little mascara, and well shaped and waxed brows are a must. I also keep my long curly hair colored and highlighted no gray at all but lots of girly upkeep.
I wear panties 24/7, I got rid of all my male underwear. I have some black cotton panties from Hanes which are passable for male underwear, that I use when I go to the gym or doctors office. I also will wear a unlined bra under a slightly over sized t-shirt. If you wear a slightly padded bra you can get away with a loose fitting Hawaiian shirt (solid color shirts the bra is more noticeable). Also all my jeans are women’s jeans, stretch cotton much more comfortable and lighter then denim. My Boyfriends jeans from Victoria Secret are my fave.
When my wife and I go out to a nice restaurant I have worn a garter belt and stockings under women’s dress slacks with matching unlined bra.
I will also wear foundation daily. The hard part is finding your color. Then apply a very light coat were it is not that noticeable but you know your wearing it.
Hi Lucille, I would like to share what I do for myself being a woman inside. First and foremost I take care of my body and always have polished toes. I like to have my nails buffed, it last longer then polish. I keep my eyebrows arched and trimmed and never leave home without my earings. When I’m not wearing a wig, I stlye my hair and apply a nice not overpowering femme scent. This is a regular routine for going to work. In my leisure time I wear my girl clothes, usually apparel that helps me to blend in with sometimes a short wig and make up. This is for doing my shopping and what ever. When I do go out movies, diner, club or just friends, I wear my sexy clothes, wig, make up and heels. From Mya Ann
Hello Mya Ann…..I wanted to let you know that I liked your comments about how you approach your fem side. I am trying to find out more about my own fem side with the assistance of a counselor so that I can become more comfortable and start going out more. I applaude gurls like you; you give gurls like me strength.
