If you’re like many of my transgender or crossdressing readers, you might not be able to present yourself as a woman each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to lose your female side when it’s time to put on the pants!
In this post, I share 5 ways to stay in touch with your femininity – even in male mode.
1. Wear Women’s Underwear
Let’s start with the most obvious tip, shall we? Wearing women’s underwear underneath your male clothing is the easiest way to connect with your feminine self on a daily basis.
Aside from that, women’s panties tend to be more comfortable than men’s boxers or briefs. Plus, they come in loads of cute and sexy styles to add some secret pizazz to your outfit.
2. Try Stealth Crossdressing
Wearing lingerie under your clothes is a classic, but why stop there? Sneaking a piece of women’s clothing into your daily outfit is a great way to feel girly.
A lot of women’s clothing can pass for unisex, so try wearing women’s:
- Basic tees
- Button-down shirts
- Jeans and pants
Don’t forget about accessories! You could also play with wearing women’s boots or using a tote bag as a laptop bag or briefcase.
3. Apply Incognito Makeup
There are lots of ways to incorporate makeup into your daily look, even when presenting as a male. Here are 4 must-have makeup items:
- Concealer or foundation – Apply a thin layer to cover under eye circles or blemishes.
- Setting powder – Apply to shiny spots on your face, like the nose or forehead.
- Clear mascara – Use it to make your eyelashes look subtly longer and fuller.
- Uncolored lipstick – Instead of boring Chapstick, care for your lips with a clear lipstick.
4. Use the Power of Scent
Scents have a powerful effect on your brain chemistry and mood, so this is a great way to connect with your feminine side.
Wear women’s perfume instead of cologne. Musky fragrances are the most unisex, so you can wear them without anybody knowing your secret. (Check out my article on perfume to learn more about choosing the right scent.)
Another option is to burn a scented candle with a feminine fragrance in your home or office.
5. Keep Reminders of Your Female Self
Another tip is to surround yourself with reminders of the woman within.
One way to do this is through photos. Keep photos of your femme self on your phone, in your wallet, or even framed and hung up so you can see them often.
You could also carry around items personalized with your feminine name, such as a necklace, keychain, or coffee mug.
6. Try Feminizing Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a powerful way to increase confidence, reprogram habits and behaviors, and improve the way you express yourself as a woman.
Best of all, it’s the ultimate mental escape – allowing you to connect with you female self regardless of your current situation.
Try it for yourself by signing up for my free Unleash Your Inner Woman hypnosis mini-session here.
How do YOU stay connected?
In an ideal world, you’d be free to present yourself as a woman whenever and wherever you wanted. Until then, I hope this gives you ideas for expressing your female side anytime you want!
How do YOU stay connected to your feminine self? I’d love to know, so please share in the comments below!

I wear feminine panties and Bra all’ time all’ days
This is fabulous Thank you so much Lucille What would I do without you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wear girls panties all the time even in guy mode. I wear spaghetti strap tee shirts under my long sleeve shirt. In the summer I wear skirts and a girl tee shirt. I love all the help you give us. Please keep it up.
Thanks Jaime! I appreciate your comment! Suzy
I’ve been out to the universe for several years now, but I remember using some of those tricks. I was especially proud of stealth makeup, just a wee touch of foundation and powder. didn’t need blush. I couldn’t use scent, because my sense of smell mostly retired long ago, didn’t want to unknowingly overdo it. But I enjoy scent, so try a bit even now, hopefully not bringing bystanders to tears.
My first goal is to be out in public fully dressed as Cathy. But when I have to be with business colleagues and/or clients I in fact DO what you suggest Lucille. I always wear lacy ‘cheekster’ panties, so that’s already part of my daily routine. And think about it, WHO ever really sees/knows about your undies, right? I also keep my legs shaved silky smooth all the time and love to wear lace-top thigh high stockings under my jeans, slacks, suit pants. I have developed my own 36C breasts so I have 2 choices in bras: functional [flattening] or fun [flattering] as per my therapist. The first are soft-cup tight stretchy-elastic sports bras that separate my breasts and push them down. The second are molded cup and slightly padded that push my breasts together and up to create cleavage and jiggle. Even in full colleague-client biz attire I love ‘feeling’ the sports bra band across my back and straps over my shoulders. A loose dress shirt and blazer or suit jacket over top covers up well, but I have that lovely sensation of knowing my bra, ‘cheeky’ panties wedged up tight, and silky smooth stockings are just underneath. (Nice to feel the wide lace thigh-band under my pants when I’m sitting at a meeting. Can’t really do any make-up but some colognes are more girly-flowery smelling than others and that’s a nice touch. I also wear my finger nails long and shaped without polish, and my hair is over my ears and shirt collar in back with shaggy bangs in front that feels very feminine. It’s okay, but it only makes me count down the time until I can finally get fully dressed and out entirely as Cathy.
I used to own a lot of men’s underwear until I used them all for wiping and cleaning rags. Just silky panties for me. There are some occasions that I have to do the male thing and that I don’t like but my nails stay painted, wear pantyhose and women’s sneakers. My body and face of course stay hair free. I have no eyebrows as I pencil them on when I dress as me (girl). I do have to admit that when I glance downward or pass by a mirror and DON’T see myself in a dress / skirt / blouse and pumps, it somewhat startles me.
Thanks, for the info, from a very quiet, closet crossdresser, when there is time.
Need some thoughts on changing my name to help feel more of a girlygirl.
Your feminine name is special as YOU get to chose it. So while others can offer advice your choice should be based on what you like. Do you see your dressed self as flirty, wholesome, exotic, sensual, girl-next-door, romantic, quiet, etc. Do you want it to be similar to your current name or as far from it as you can get.
As for me, I wanted the Ivory soap, girl-next-door feeling and it had to start with my first initial. I’ve always liked Jennifer but just like in real life I go by my nickname so I chose Jenny as I feel it is more simple and approachable.
After seeing another Jenny post on here I thought why not add a last name. It needed to start with a “D” choosing the name “Delight”. While dressing enfemme was truly a delight the name just didn’t feel like me eventually deciding on Dee, as in Sandra Dee from Grease-a very wholesome girl-next-door! Like you I also am a crossdresser and my last name sounds like the letter so I added the “C” as my middle initial. I love my name and who Jenny is.
Enjoy the journey and I look forward to reading your story!
PS. Somewhere in here is a blog where Lucille asks people to explain how they chose their fem name, it might help.
Love & Hugs,
Jenny Dee
Great tips Jenny, and I love your story! ❤️
